Right, it's like getting 40% on a dead base when you get the loot at 25%. It's completely optional, and helps other people more than yourself (assuming you're very active, of course).

Exactly, it is a shame SuperCell seemed keen on this idea a good year or so ago…but ultimately went cold on it. :(

They shouldn't allow people to upgrade their TH unless they maxed all collectors.

Funny stuff is they are the first to complain about bad loot while they are part of the cause themselves.

I said no.

Everyone can play the game how they see fit.

Some like to Gem.
Some will spend hours a day playing the game.
Some will Th rush badly.
Some will TH rush cleverly. All offense buildings and normal raiding troops maxed.
Some will max everything. In my eyes not always a clever move. Do not like more than 1 bulder idle. unless that 1 builder doing walls early as a TH.

I still got most my collectors at level 8 and 9. I will maxing mine as TH 9 when I get my last defenses buildings to max.

Now making having collectors at a certain level to get an achievement and free gems I am all in favour of that idea.

So NO to forcing but a BIG YES to encouraging players to do it.

Honestly, if your idea is to just make those hardcore farmers to upgrade their collectors/mines to max, then its gonna fail. Most of the time, they will get revenged/raided right after they log-off, so whether their collector is gonna be lvl 1 or lvl 12 won't really make a difference, not unless they decide to take a vacation from COC.


Forcing players to do something is just gonna be counter productive, IMO.

They can't force anyone to upgrade their collectors, but maybe an incentive would help. Main reason why people are not upgrading collectors is because they have their builders busy on upgrading defs, so why not a short term "boost" offer, like a builder would work 4x faster on collectors during one week for 1-gem. I'm pretty sure most people would see the benefit and stop doing anything else for quickly upgrading their collectors. At least I would.

That's a clever idea. I have never even bothered to take advantage of any of the 1 gem specials (I know I will get all the loot I need without boosted barracks or collectors) but even I would seriously consider boosting a builder to get the collectors done quickly. I am a sucker for base progression and builder time is the bottleneck.
