And it is called clan wars. Many people play this game to progress though the stages (i.e. upgrade and move on). Its fine if you choose to build big armies and raid. I love big raids but i choose to use clan wars as a platform for that. I choose to barch because it is the quickest and most profitable way to farm. It makes no sense to build a big army and spend 200K+ in troop and spell cost to get what i can get when barching for 50K. This is not directed at you, but everyone thinks they know what the point of the game is. That the beauty of this game, everyone can choose their own strategy, but now SC is stepping in and trying to change the dynamic of the game when they really don't have to.
No... Base design is the defense against barchers. Period. There is nothing magical about barching. When barchers win in champs, it is not dominating, they win by 2-10% on the very best of attacks on bases with tons of outside buildings. If you decide to put half your buildings outside your base, THAT is your base design failure. It is incredibly easy to have an unbarchable base. A great way to go up in cups is to make your base look like its barchable, but through teslas and creative traps and hero location it is very hard to pull off...
I'm not sure about you guys, but I found that my archers actually live for half a second longer than before. I think the update is actually pretty good, since the HP upgrade on archers are a bit more meaningful now.
