This isn't class based, its a solution for a problem that everyone in c3 or up understands, kids see purple and spam the chat trying to get them to join.
I really like this. Great job.:D
If you're diving something based on ranks, it is class based. What else do you want to call it?
And she's talking about dividing groups based on Experience levels, and not League levels (since you are saying c3 and up). As far as i know, kids are everywhere. Deal with it. They gave you a mute option for the very reason..
+1
How are new players supposed to learn about the game if you alienate and segregate them away from experienced players? This suggestion will only promote elitism and a "Cool Kids" culture, neither of which will be good for the game.
I find the "join my Clan" messages much less obnoxious than all the Homophobic banter that goes on. I love the mute/report buttons. It's reassuring to know that the designers have seen this request before and not implemented it.
As for age... I've encountered 12 year olds with more maturity and online decorum than many supposed adults. People should be judged (and filtered) by their behaviour, not their age. Teaching kids how to behave (especially online) by example and guidance is part of being a responsible adult, and will make a better internet for everyone.
I can think of it as a system for finding clan members, not dividing people into groups. Finding people with same th or lvl is hard enough. Really takes some time to fill a clan with lvl 75+ players. I think it would be very helpful, not discriminating.
The filter problem is that someone might not have there filter on, so talk to everyone and someone they are talking to will have it on so it will be hard for people to engage and comment!
the other problem is you all talk about immaturity, but they are strong players that are very immature as well, and segregation will not guarantee you find what you are looking for in your clan ie you might find rushed bases which you don't want.
