Why do lvl 6 giants have over 40% more hitpoints and dps than lvl 5 giants when lvl 7 giants have only 17% more than lvl 6?
Honest question. Not a rhetorical complaint. Can't really wrap my head around this. Why do th9s need a giant on steroids when th10 gets a giant with golden shoulders and a cup of coffee?
Because a cup of coffee is always better than no coffee. :cool::cool:
SuperCell are just trying not to make them overpowered.
Originally the lv 6 Giant was much weaker, but over a series of updates they gradually made it stronger [so it wouldn't be affected by measures to nerf hogs]
I'm sure if the lv 7 Giant is not deemed to be strong enough it will get buffed in the future.
Giants are overpowered to begin with when they are used properly. Kinda confused by this as well. Seems like a pre-mature update IMO. But either way I am stoked to get them upgrading. lol @"Giants on steroids":rolleyes:
Because at townhall 10 nearly every single troop upgrade involves a smaller buff than the previous level upgrade. A buff is still a buff though which is why townhall 10s still use level 6 wizards even though the stat buff on them is relatively small.
So excited for level 7 giants. I may actually use giants for farming again
Often it's not the percentage increase in HP that matters as much as the incremental one that says it takes more hits to bring down... 17% of a lot is still a good buff. You can also note that Level 6 giants also have to make do without useful healer support whereas level 5 giants at th8 usually get much better value for a healer behind them.
I'm basically happy with the update as it's encouraging strategies other than just barch and giving alternatives to lightning zapping DE as well. I'm still not convinced that giants vs infernos doesn't simply equal BBQ. For that reason I expect that as a TH 9 I'm the main victim of the giant buff so am a little nervous about what these giants are going to do to my base. Lv 6 are hard enough to stop.
And yeah, coffee is good.
agreed, its encourage to not barch as often, and plus infernos are gonna last longer with same amount of de so the increase in level to Giants is to help balance this to some end, for a slight new gameplay variable, I'm excitedQuote:

I think incremental changes are fine for dps units, since all buildings receive incremental increases in hitpoints as you upgrade them. This isn't the case for the defensive power that your giants go up against, which seem only to be incremental until th9. Th9 and 10 enjoy an exponential growth in defensive capability, which I thought was the rationale behind the exponential increase in lvl 6 giants over previous upgrades which were appropriately incremental.Quote:
