Recently Upgraded Base Layouts

So I just upgraded my TH to 9 from a fully maxed TH8 (everything including defenses, full skulls, level 10 king, and all DE troop upgrades complete). I already added the two xbows (level 1), have the new 25 walls up to skulls, and my AQ is upgrading to level 4 currently. I want to incorporate the xbows, new walls, and my queen in my overall defenses, but the new defenses (WT, AD, AT) are still very low level and I do not want to integrate them yet.

Right now I have a TH8 farming base layout that is self sustaining. My question is, are there any good layouts available for those in my position where you have just upgraded your TH that can be self sustaining while you are integrating? I am looking for preferably a farming layout and a war base layout.

How did you upgrade your queen so quickly im surprised it takes ages to find dark elixir, im in the same situation you are, but where is the best gold, elixir and dark elixir at which league?

What I find is using a ring-style base (Ringus or a variant thereof) works great when you have multiple defenses down. If you scatter the upgrading buildings around your base, in the ring, you can have a functioning DPS core (the main feature of the base's defensive capabilities anyways), and the other defenses don't really hinder the way the base works.

Don't stack all of the upgrading buildings on one side, though, as then it would be easy to use half your hogs/loons to crack the ring, and then get to the core.

I hang around Crystal III, so 1900-2100 range. Zaps and dead base farming did the trick (I know, I'm an @$$ :D). When I was doing my last few dark upgrades at TH8 (minions and hogs) I filled my storage before hitting the upgrade button on my TH, which gave me queen levels 1 & 2 right away. 3 & 4 came easily as they are only a total of 52.5K I got from farming and focusing on other upgrades, such as my xbows. Gold, lix and DE farming are tricky and I don't think there's a "best" place to farm it. Just have to jump around and get lucky.
