Improvements to the Max Level Air Defense Graphic

Let's start with the basics.

As your buildings gain levels, they tend to look sturdier. They gain features that make them more durable, more threatening, more...fearsome.

How about we look at some prime defensive examples?

Archer Towers

Here's a level 1 archer tower. It's a few sticks, held together with rope, and topped off with a few planks. It looks like a goblin could huff and puff and blow it right down.

Now let's take a look at the level 13 archer tower.

WOW! That's a big difference! This thing has golden spikes, metal, shields...I wouldn't go anywhere near that thing.

Mortars

Oh, you'd like a few more examples?

Here's a level 1 mortar.

Clearly not very impressive. At least this has some metal in it, but still nothing to be afraid of.
What about a maxed one?

Made of some dark evil looking metal, golden spikes, and fire in the barrel, you wouldn't want to be in the first line of attack when you saw this. Think an archer could damage that thing? Not a chance.

Now, what's the point of all these comparisons? Well, let's look at one last example...

Air Defense

A level 1 air defense is nothing more than a wooden barrel, held up by some sticks, and of course rope.

It's okay, that's pretty typical of low level defenses as we've already demonstrated.

It must look something fierce when it's maxed out. Something that's couldn't be defeated by simple ground troops. This is a defense that the Dragons fear! A defensive structure that even balloons piloted by suicide skeletons struggle to get near!

That's nothing more than...a barrel...held up by some sticks and rope? Seriously? Oh phew, we have one barbarian with a dull sword. He shouldn't have any trouble cutting that thing down....


I propose that the Air Defense structure gets visited by the master builders association. This thing is due for some serious beefing up. Please, make it scare us.

I think it's fine how it is honestly, but I would care at all if it was beefed up!

I agree! The air defence looked better at lvl 1 IMO.

IMO Lvl.10 TownHall supose to have that Hell feel to it. With The Cannons/CrossBows & Air Defense it looks more like a Circus than anything. Everything just look Clownish to me.

I see your points, the air defence doesn't get visual as strong as the other buildings and
eventho i don't really care for it visuals atm i kinda struggle more with the fact there are
some fireworks inside of it. Archer towers got archers ontop and you see them shoot, same
for wizzard tower.
Air defence has some fireworks looking arround and out of nowhere a new arrow gets shooten
at the air defence.

So overal i kinda agree on you that the air defence could use some update ;)

Purpose of this thread like all other threads in this section is to discuss Ideas & features we would like to see in the game. If you could put up half as much effort in discussing ideas than trolling for something to complain about. You would of got what this post was all about.

This is actually a really good idea! The fireworks theme doesn't really fit in with the rest of the building style. They don't look frightning, although they should look like that. I would love it to see it's graphics updated to, let's say for example, some missiles/a slingslot. The missiles could look real fearsome, but maybe that feels a bit too modernized. A slingshot would be awesome, hurdling stones/burning oil at air troops.

OT: I love your signature.

I actually like the fireworks theme. In my opinion it fits with the game.

I really don't have a problem with the fireworks. I just think the structure just seems flimsy.

Yeah sort of like a world where magic works and technology doesn't. I like it.

Have you actually seen one of those on a base? They're massive. Imagine you're flying through the air, you look down and see a barrel half your size full of rockets trained on your face, firing rapidly and dealing devastating damage. That's what a Dragon sees. To me, these actually do look very threatening, due more to their size than anything, but their size is scary

The air defense looks better than the archer tower and mortar combined they really need to do something about those

Honestly, I think the level 7 air defense looks really crappy, what with like 7 rockets crammed into a tiny barrel. Max level air defense looks cool in my opinion. They just need to change the level 7 air defense.
