Suspend Status for Clan Members
Feature Request:
"Suspend" button appears when a leader click's on a regular clan member's name. Button is replaced by "Reinstate" when viewing a suspended member. A clan member who is suspended will be excluded from the war when a search is conducted. The member will still be able to participate in clan chat though and donate troops to support the war effort.
Premise:
Clan members have varying levels of commitment to the game. Some are very active who prefer a permanent state of war. Others are casual gamers who check their village once a week. Usually these birds flock with others of the same feather in the online world. This is harder though for clans built around real world friendships. An inactive player negatively affects the clan during war leading to resentment among clan mates. Ultimately, this leads to strained relations in real life. A suspended status (perhaps someone can come up with a better term?) aims to fix this by allowing the hardcore and the casual gamers to co-exist within the same clan.
Pros:
- Temporarily inactive members can be just suspended instead of being kicked out
- Can be used as a form of punishment to address inappropriate behavior that does not justify an expulsion
- Leaders can better strategize since they'll be able to choose which members are not yet ready for war
Possible Points for discussion:
- Who should have the right to suspend members? Leaders only? Up to Elders?
- What should be the consequences of suspension? Just exclusion from war? Chat participation? Troop requests?
- Cons of having the suspended status. Can it be abused somehow?
