I went to TH9 several weeks ago (after maxing TH8 except walls) and I've been concentrating on the elixir-based upgrades first (camps, DE drills, lab research) which are all expensive. All of the new gold-based defenses and trap upgrades have been cheap, so I've been able to keep my gold storage low with those upgrades when my elixir storage is high. My PLAN was to get most of these elixir upgrades out of the way first, then when I'm saving for the expensive gold upgrades I can keep my elixir low by dumping it into walls. Now that I'm almost done with the elixir upgrades, SC makes this announcement! I was COUNTING ON being able to spend my elixir on walls!! I'm going to be up to my ears in elixir now that I'll have nowhere to spend it!! ARGH!!!!

SAME!!!! I agree 100%! I had planned to spend excess elixir on walls while I saved up for expensive gold upgrades, but now I can't! Add my name to the petition!!

I agree it ought to be level 8 and up walls upgradeable with elixir.

Those should be free. At least for me anyhow, and maybe a few of my friends. They can charge what they want to everyone else.

ive been playing around 5 week, and was enjoying using 200k elixer to upgrade my walls as they are atm, looking at the changes planned, i guess ill not be playing much longer :mad: why do game devs always get greedy and destroy something that was good, shocking, gamebreaker

At least you were able to upgrade those walls with 200k elixir. People couldn't even do that a couple of months ago and remember that more expensive walls = easier bases for you to raid

There have been some good points made. I can see why the resource imbalance makes sense between gold and elixir.

I still think it's pretty cruddy to retract the original guidelines of the update (From lvl 7 to lvl 9). I don't think the original mandate was detrimental enough to retract....

I think they will get a significant retort from the CoC community.
