Supercell... No take-backsies!!! (Elixir on Walls)

The ability to use elixir on walls is one of the better upgrades CoC has experienced in the last 6 months! I feel as if the resources are already skewed in importance towards gold. Why continue the trend? Why raise the wall "level cap" to 9? I thought that 7 was a very appropriate set point for allowing users to use elixir.

All my walls are lvl 7 and I was looking forward to using my elixir to bring them to lvl 8. Now that hope is squandered.

All this will do is make people angry :mad: ... myself included. I really hope they get enough push back to overturn this new "ruling."

People will get over it. Personally I'm going to be happy about the additional elixir that will now be raidable.

The elixir for wall update was a terrible idea and continues to be a terrible idea.

The game should be skewed in favor of gold. The whole point of attacking really should be to convert excess elixir into gold, de, and trophies.

People like the op or others like my friends or clanmates are already upset about it. I'm upset because that's like taking back things you were already given. Then they should take away lava hounds. No one uses them or skeletons which mess up the raiding for a time. Or take back everything they have updated before.

I agree with you that supercell is taking away things they already updated. What now next time they will take away the drills from th7 ? Or take level 11 collectors.

Supercell if you already updated the walls with elixir and you or the team chose that level 7 was the right level to start with don't go back.

People like OP and my friends had already planned on their walls and now for Christmas your taking away their wall loot.

I'll be th10 soon and I know supposedly for us higher bases but I can find the loot for my defense. I always have. Or if you want at least starting from th9 or th8 u can use elixir for walls. Or walls from level 7 or level 8. That seems unfair what you are doing on the next update for many lower bases.

It's still better than it was before. Besides, many buffs get nerfed eventually such as the hero. Resource was skewed towards gold and that was a good thing because it allowed people to have a surplus of elixir to play with and keep attacking.

I personally prefer it to be raised to lv10 walls because the hp/cost between lv8 and 9 is the same so help isn't needed there (plus higher = less elixir dumping). At least elixir helped you get those lv7s

I agree. Ever since the original wall/elixir feature update, I have had NO PROBLEM collecting elixir. Gold is the problem - In general there are so many more gold-based upgrades. Plus NEXTing can cost 100's of k Gold.

I've also found I get raided much less when one of my resources is really low - if I'm saving gold, I spend all of my elixir on cheap stuff like walls; if I'm saving elixir, I spend gold on cheap stuff. If both resource levels are high, that's a sure-fire way to get pillaged.

I went to TH9 several weeks ago (after maxing TH8 except walls) and I've been concentrating on the elixir-based upgrades first (camps, DE drills, lab research) which are all expensive. All of the new gold-based defenses and trap upgrades have been cheap, so I've been able to keep my gold storage low with those upgrades when my elixir storage is high. My PLAN was to get most of these elixir upgrades out of the way first, then when I'm saving for the expensive gold upgrades I can keep my elixir low by dumping it into walls. Now that I'm almost done with the elixir upgrades, SC makes this announcement! I was COUNTING ON being able to spend my elixir on walls!! I'm going to be up to my ears in elixir now that I'll have nowhere to spend it!! ARGH!!!!

Then supercell should get rid of elixir and let's just have gold and dark elixir. Elixir is always unused even with this wall update. Then you could choose what you want to update w the gold barrack walls updated or troops.


You are just upset you did your walls before the wall updates I'm sure. It doesn't affect me I'm th9 level 9 walls. But I know elixir is just sitting there most of the time. And at least u could have a choice like they gave to update walls or not. Not take it away

That's not how game design works. It's an iterative process. Some ideas work great, others do not and have to be tweaked. Deal with it.

It's not unfair. Basically you and your friends should consider that you were given a temporary advantage. One that you should not have had. Consider it sort like a long gem boost that is now ending. Take screenshots so you can remember these times of cheaper walls fondly.

It's quite simple. Elixir is for troops/attacking and gold is for defense. Elixir should be a relatively cheap and plentiful resource that makes sure you have to think twice before throwing expensive troops away and yet does not make a loss debilitating.

I don't care what other people do. So no I'm not upset that they got an advantage I did not have.

I do think that it should be level 10+ walls if anything though (although really I think and have always thought this was a bad idea in general). The point is that level 9 walls are still only 1m. That doesn't require people to save enough for their storage amounts to represent a reasonable amount of raidable loot. At least with level 10 and level 11 walls, folks will have at least a few million elixir in storage.
