Did you suffer to buy Barbarian King, now it's a lot easier. TH7 with a Drill.

So guys i remember when i was Town Hall 7 how much i suffered to gather the dark elixir for Barbarian King and even spent 140 gems just to fill it when i had around 9.400 dark elixir.

After this update the Dark Elixir Drill will really change things, a make it a bit or a lot easier to buy the King.

What is your experience on gathering the Dark Elixir and what do you think about people with Town Hall 7 that will have Dark Elixir Drill :confused:

I think I did the same thing, suffered to get the DE needed then bought the rest when i was at 9k or so.

I like the change, good for them, more DE for us to raid from them.

I waited till th8 to get the King.

Waste of time and effort to farm him at TH7.

I gemmed mine, I am happy that town hall 7 get their drill at last, it always seemed odd they got barracks and storage but no drill!

I found it was not that bad. I did do it during the 1 gem Halloween boost so I got alot from zapping at the cost of elixir. I got my barb king to level 5 and both minion/hog research done at town hall 7. The hard part was staying in a trophy range that you could get 4-800 de in a raid with the rare 1500+

So in the end I farmed over

105,000 DE at town hall 7

Yeah but that's how it goes. Older players often have to do things that newer ones won't. I mean, people used to have to get legos/lavas/zaps with gold only.

All good... not bothered they have it easier now, things change.....

7's will have a way of getting there BK quite easily, if slowly...

8's will now have 2 drills, plus 7's to pick on.....

I'm a 9, so all that dark the 8's are paddling in, will find its way to my tank......

Just hope I can spend it before the new moody giants(th10) come banging on my walls.....

Jelly of them lv40 Heros. I only find it unfair to those who have lv40 heros and even then this may make using DE troops for wars alot easier to obtain.

Cant say suffer, but did work hard to get DE without lightning strikes, well thats how the game gets better, its why its called Update, lol 😊

Suffered a lot. had to to to the shop at 340 dark elixir, buy a 10$ game pack, and gem de storage fill, and use it on the barbarian king.

Yes, I didnt want to suffer so I gemmed it immediatatly

I think this is a great addition, besides, because they can easily get a barb king I can tell all the newbies what REAL farming was 'back in my day we could only use gold!'

I couldn't wait because it was awesome to have the Barbarian King, taking him in raid like a beast LOL

I took the easy way out and gemed him.

Same with AQ but i was 75% towards it anyways so i was like meh might as well get her fast to add a tiny bit of firepower.

I did not find it that hard to get 10k DE at TH 7. Still remember that last evening when I said to myself "when I have just X left, I'll gem him" - only to find two or three immensely successful raids in close succession and be able to buy him without gems. Don't remember what number for X I set for myself.

I postponed all following updates until TH 8, though. Got him to level 10 in "no time" as a byproduct of farming gold and elixir for defense upgrades and keeping the lab busy.

I remember battling it out and working so hard to get him, then in wars when I used mass drags and was 3 staring bases with 8-9 drags left over I thought to myself... "now why did I want this king so badly again?" most of the time i even forgot I had him.

I maxed it at TH7. It was time consuming, but it was worth it.

No option for 'Barbarian King Didn't Exist at TH7'

nope it was actually easier at th 7 then at th8 but they both were easy to farm. I had walls and barbarian king maxed at th 7 and th 8 before I had defenses/ elixer upgrades maxed and I skipped upgrading my collectors and barracks untill th 9. Not only that but I started the game this time last year. I log off after every attack. no tapping the screen and staying on 24/7. I also used my own base design custom made.

when things happen to me in the game like someone takes a lot of my loot or stuff like that I would look and see why they were able to take it in the replays. I then would figure out a way to stop it. I guess im just a natural born strategist, tactician, and analyzer.

I remember being excited when going to TH7. Looking forward so much to getting my BK (because heroes are what really make raiding and wars fun right?? Yes, dev team this is a plug for heroes on upgrade being available for wars!) Anyway, back to the point of this post ... So yeah, I was psyched to be able to get BK. Built my DE storage and started saving every drop of that mystical dark elixir that I could get my troops' little hands on.

Got to about 2K and wham! 3-starred for a big loss of DE! 'It's okay, I said to myself.' Part of the game right? So I got back to it, raiding DE and saving up. Then wham! Another 3-star for a big loss. And then I began to understand that DE is the most sought-after resource in the game. So I weighed it out in my mind and decided to forgo the BK at TH7. Whatever DE I raided, I spent on minions and hogs to strengthen my army comp of giants, barbs, archers, wb's and gobs. I realised it was better to spend the DE on troops, hit those bases with full gold and elixir storages, get thru TH7 faster and, eventually, I'd be able to get the BK at TH8.

So that's what I did. I never zapped (no judgement here, just personal preference) and now, as a TH9 with both heroes, I can say that the wait wasn't so bad.

I think the decision to add the DE drill at TH7 was a good one. Aside from relieving some of the stress on Th7's to hold onto their DE, there will also be a whole TH level's worth of DE added into the economy. Same for the second drill for TH8's. Even though I won't directly benefit, being TH9 now, I know there will be lots more DE for raiding. And that's the point of the game right? ;)

This was a really detailed reply and ofcourse Dark Elixir Drill at Town Hall level 7 it's great to help people buy they Barbarian King, but back then when i started it was really hard :p

I literally zapped my way to it so I can't really complain I suffered. However I bever upgraded him til lvl 8 townhall.

No it wasn't bad. And nor do I get jealous for when they "make it easier" for lower town halls than me. I have greatly benefited to these slight loot improvements being in a higher town hall. Now I get to dump elixer into walls, and drool at these extra full drills i find every dead base.

Lvl 7 and bk is only 5 levels. Silly to complain about 5 levels. He goes to 40 and requires an immense amount of time and DE.

I farmed it in about three days, no lightning used. I remember farming it 1,000+ at a time, breaking into TH 8 storages, and had one 3,000+ DE raid against an abandoned TH 10. Didn't really suffer, actually had fun :)

Back then I used to think I'll get all that de after like half a year.But now one year after I got my bk,it doesn't see all that hard especially after getting my queen to forty.As for th7 getting a drill,I'd say it's welcomed so that they can progress faster in game and tbh,one drill doesn't do a whole lot lol.

Getting King without drill is easy lol. The drill will never be your main source of dark elixir, it's just there to help. You get most from bonuses and raiding.

It wasn't bad at all, I moved up to Crystal III and got the 10k in three days about 9 hours of play time total. I just really wanted to unlock him and after that didn't really focus on leveling him but was able to get him to level 4 before making the jump into TH8.

I think the biggest problem people have is being in the wrong trophy range, anything below gold 1 is terrible for DE, everyone really needs it at that range and its not being produced by very many players. The only time my base gets zapped for DE is below Crystal. They easiest way to get DE is to target the drills on th9 and th10 bases and they cant even revenge because they have the loot penalty.

Getting DE in TH8 was a breeze it was that much easier to stay in Crystal III range and up and made it even easier to get those drills.

I think something was lost by adding the drills to TH7 and TH8, it was an accomplishment to earn your first hero it required a bit of dedication and skill and was a badge of honor at th7. Now that there's been so much DE added to the economy at low TH levels it's really lost itself as an accomplishment.

Sure thing, De Drill is not the main source of Dark Elixir, raiding and bonus from clan wars it's the main source ;)

I maxed out my king at Th7 pretty quickly because when upgrading to TH6, I took my bum to Crystal in hope for 2k+ DE drill raids.

DE Drills are the main source. DE is only generated in three possible ways Drills, League Bonus and War Bonus. The majority of DE gets generated by drills. Raiding apart from the League Bonus doesn't generate any new DE you're simply taking someone elses DE.

I'm level 81 currenlty with Town Hall level 8 and i get 1000 DE from drills daily and approx 5000 from raids so i think that they aren't the main source, they are just a help, just a bit.

PS : your calculations are accurate, there was a lot of DE added to Town Hall 7 level.

Yea of course that i comes from another Dark Elixir Drill, but someone above me said that DE drill at town hall 7 will make it a lot easier, in 2 week you can gather your DE for barbarian king so i wanted to tell him that most of the dark elixir comes from raids and bonus.

TH snipe up to 1800-2200. Lightning zap those base with 2k+ de available.

I suffered, but it was the most satisfying upgrade I have made to date. Being a town hall 10, I realized that maxing bases isn't the fun part - the journey to the maxed base is.

I got mine as a side effect of pushing to C1 by sniping THs. No drill. Easy as pie.

I expect with a drill, it will still require some effort since you can't really defend anything as a TH7.

Although I admit I gave up and bought my level1 king, angrily.. But I got to do half my skulls with elixir and keep all my resources low which in turn got me hit less. I had a serious advantage that many will never have.

i personally didnt struggle too much with getting my king, but i think that this will be great for the loot system, a lot more de available at th 7/8 now

Wouldn't know. Barbarian King didn't exist at Town Hall 7.

I gemmed mine at TH7. I was pretty impatient back then lol.

I had to wait until th8 to get my bk because it was so hard to get de. I was averaging around 4k de at th7.:p

I gemmed the last couple hundred DE. I figure in the 10 days it takes to get th 9, I'll have enough to get the AQ right away.

It was harder then, but I have a lv30 king now so I am not complaining.

I got mine to lvl 3 when I was th7 by zapping. Couldve gone to 5 but by then my defenses were maxed. Didnt suffer really but I did burn a lot of elixir but whatever. I'm glad they made it easier for th7s 8s to get de. As a th9 now when i barch an inactive th8 they'll have 2 drills which is more dark elixir for me. That and when I hit th8 storages they'll have more de for me take.

Lol I got my king to 5, and my minions and hogs to 2 at th7 with no problem.

Really biast poll... I had my BK upgrade in like 1 hour of raiding.

Not a problem getting my bk tho

Yea that's quite easy if you go to Crystal League because for every victory you get 100 DE i think :cool:

Just hit Level 5 as a Max TH 7. Not too bad....just have to focus on the many guides that address DE farming on these forums.

I just farmed 16K DE for my Level 5 yesterday barching in Gold III. (with the aid of 1 gem boost spells, king and barracks).

Back in 2013, i murdered about 1,000,000 goblins for 10k de...now one year later th 7 gets the drill...im gonna go kill some more goblins now.

I got King to 4 and minions to 2 with no trouble at all. Elixir wasn't a problem as I maxed all elixir upgrades.

But they didn't stop zapping.....

Personally i don't see zapping as a huge problem, it's better to get zapped rather then getting destroyed :D

I also gemmed my king when I had 9.1k DE

Before th8, I already have king level5, minions 2 and start hogs 2.

Without drill help. But anyway I level my drill to max. This mean 1080de per day. Honestly this not help. Bcs you cant save all.

I do all. Zapp, full attack, zapp... th7/8/9/10. But its not so hard. I got 140 000 DE on th7.

I spend 10 days to max all de. Expect hogs. They are 7 days. But I am glad that I entered to th8 with everything maxxed. I losed so much loot bcs of wait. I wait to max "all DE units".

Hard but not imposible. King is nice when he reach level 5.

I dont use minions/bam but I upgrade them. But I have plans to be hog rider/mass dragon player. So I this is my first choice. In th8 first will upgrade hogs to level 3/4 and dragons to lvl3.

Btw my personal opinion. Taking DE in th7 is so easy.

Well,I got my barb without the drill by using lightning:cool:.BTW,I got my barb king after the update was released.

Got my BK on my 4th day as TH7. Mostly zaps + filled up drills, and I used to stick around 1300-1450 cups then. Didn't even boost barracks/spells, so no, not really hard.

I honestly don't care...as long as they spawn 5 barbs by my TH and give me a shield so I last the rest of the night:)

Got him in TH8, I wasn't that hasty to get a BK. when I was in TH8 I never thought of farming for DE, it just filled itself while I was farming Gold and Elixir.

SC released the update of DE drills at TH7 one day before I got to TH8, so obviously I thought "Mot****!! :mad:"

But for me, even if it took much more time than I thought to get the BK, I found it very interesting to have to hunt the DE from other guys. Of course I zapped sometimes but most of the times I tried to find a way to the DE storage.In the end I turned TH8 with all walls, all normal troups, all buildings maxed and my BK getting level 4. And many other poeple might have done much better than me! Obviously you hardly can go for gold, elixir, trophies and dark elixir at the same time, you have to make some choices.

That's why I just don't like the DE drills at TH7, it's not like it is necessary to have the BK or so, it might make it faster, but part of the fun is gone now. I don't like the idea of making it easier for people who just want to have everything just right now or even better for yesterday. Learn to be patient! ;)

Yea it's a bit unbelievable right now when i'm almost maxed TH8, i can make atleast 10k DE for one day that back than when i was early TH7 i spend 120 gems to fill the DE for my Barbarian King.

On my first account I did it at th8 before uprading lvl5 Units. This really took some time because at this time I was going offline between raids instead of doing 6 hour sessions (or 2 hour boosted ones).

On my second account I did it at th7 and it was rather easy. If you have enough raiding skills, it should not be such a Problem.

Now it would be extremely easy because of the dark drill at th7 and 2 drills at th8. The drill does not produce so much dark for me, but most of the other th7 have dark elixir now and th8s have even more.

Yea now it's a bit easier and there will be more dark elixir among the TH7 trophy level 1000 - 1400

Getting the first 10K for L1 BK was easy. Maxing to L5 at TH7 was work but well worth it. With 1 L3 drill giving 1K DE/day, all dark upgrades at TH7 will be a cakewalk now.

First adapters will always pay more, in effort, money or heart ache. It's the cost of being first.

I stupidly gemmed it. It was 591 gems down the drain. Then a week later Supercell releases drills for TH7 and I've upgraded my Barb King twice since then. I'm also not as mad when I get raided of DE because I can gain it back via the drill.

Something same happened to me also, i gemmed the last 1000k DE after buying i started finding DE more often :confused:
