cool story, bro
Yes it wil, be tougher, but still could be done, a little more strategy required.
Hey, at least they didn't double the fire-rate of the mortar too ;)
If they want to get rid of barch they need to equalize the cook speed of all units. If a unit takes up 5 space, it should take exactly 5 times as long to make as a unit that takes up one space. If that happens then all armies will take the exact same amount of time to create. The speed of barch is always what has drawn me to it. The cost is just a bonus.
Agreed. Obviously, equalizing the cook speed for all units would be a bit OP, but I see your point. I've never spent gems on this game and barching is really the only way I can raid without boosting. Otherwise, I have to wait for about an hour for the army comp to cook up. And, if I'm trying to save 5 million+, I'll probably get raided. Barch, don't leave us!
It also affects other barch armies. Using archers as an example, you are right that most archers will be able to take two shots from most archer towers that they face still resulting in 1 dead archer per second, but if a group of archers is first hit by a mortar the archer tower will now be able to kill them twice as fast at a rate of 2 per second. Barbarians are similarly affected.
This is a nerf for barbarians at close range because they are killed with 3 shots in 1.5 seconds instead of 2 shots in 2 second.
However for most archer combination at longer ranges they will be killed with 2 arrows and 1 arrow will still be in the air so they kill them only in 1.5 seconds and they can still be healed.
I can be wrong but this seems more like a disadvantage to me.
Btw you can see the same effect for xbows that they get more effective against archers if they get closer.
I don't mind the cost too much, like you say if the loot is worth it. It is more the time to train the army that makes me favour barch.
Damage per second is the same. The arrows do less damage but shoot faster, hence the DPS is the same as it is now!
