Th8 help push to Masters

My target is to push to Masters at TH8. Don't plan on staying there I just want the achievement. But I'm having no luck...

Currently at C2/C3. Getting cups by sniping exposed TH which is so rare I'm falling asleep tapping next. Barch which I used so much it's getting boring is not reliable enough on a lot of bases here, pushing me to go for riskier 50% clear, lost more than a few at 49% and you know that it sets you back so far! Usually well disciplined about choosing bases but sometimes boredom gets the better. Or a fat finger a troop. Done that loads...of course always on a max TH10.

I leave my TH out for shield which gets taken in mins. Great. But bleeding trophies like this lol.

Tried a hybrid setup as Currently not holding a lot of loot and instead of just get squashed like a bug. And lose even more trophies.

So! What needs to change.

Learn the coveted gowipe (which means concentrating on getting golem?) dark barracks are at lvl 2.

Another armp comp? Forget masters at this level?

Troops wise I have all normal troops and level 2 DB so no golem yet.

All bar Wizard, Pekka and DE Troops are max. Wizard will be next to max in 2 days.

1.20 hogs
2.4 wall breakers
3.12 wizards
4.24 barbs
5.22 archers
Try this dude but to attack with this combo is simply just take out the nearer defences to townhall n then leave ur wall breakers to funnel a path for wiz to destroy the th n u can get 50% too if u attack correctly

Sure I'm definitely open to trying new combos.

As sniping is not really an option anymore I just want a good effective army that costs as little as possible, applicable to as many bases as possible.

My hogs are only level 1 though, how tough a base can I take on?

Spells? Lightning for cc troops and mortars etc or heal and rage?

Loonion can definitely help the push. It will get you into C1 and from there its all Loonion or GoWiPe once you unlock it.

Well I had a go at a few random combos with varied success. Hardly conclusive as some I went without spells, and more than likely deployed in the worst possible fashion knowing me!

Tried this one:
1.20 hogs
2.4 wall breakers
3.12 wizards
4.24 barbs
5.22 archers

Failed. My hogs died too quickly at Lvl1 vs a Mid TH8.

Tried 8 x Dragon on a revenge attack vs TH8 and 3 spells, easily cleared of course but far too expensive in the long run. Slight loss os Elixir but +51 cups :D

Tried mass minion + 10 giants using dragon-like deployment tactics. Was ok I guess, failed at 45% I think but no spells, only lvl 1. If I thought it through I could have easily for 1 star from abandoned buildings but got caught in the moment.

Tried GIWIPE with 14 Giants, 8 WB's, 2 PEKKA (lvl1), rest Wizards with 2 Rage, 1 Heal and BK.

This was the most successful, 2 starred a mid TH9. Could have done better for sure as my phone glitched out and wouldnt let me place Wizards for what felt like forever. However made no difference as I still managed to take centralised TH and all resource (about 150k of each and 1.5k DE)

So to summarise...

GIWIPE had the best results but without boosted barracks, one hell of a cook time and very expensive which makes me wonder if people use this tactic solely for pushing, I'm not sure the pros outweigh the cons for me.

Pro:

Confident on at least 1-2 stars on a lot of bases

Cons:

Cook time. In between armies there's no way I'm staying online waiting...Once I average out cup gains and losses from being raided inbetewen I'm not going anywhere fast!

Cost: Off the top of my head I figure nearly 250k Lix. With upgrades, raids and the lack of decent loot at this range it's going to be difficult maintaining. Which means either spending ages trying to find and barch a base or dropping cups to re-farm (which defeats the point).

Loonion will prob not work for me simply as mine are too low level (2 I think). I have literally never used them except for pre-dragon on single player.

I'm really low now on Lix and Gold, so I think I'll have to call this one a bust til my troops like mins/hogs are of higher level....and start with a bigger reserve!

Been interesting though.

I went hogging a few times in college....you wake up in the morning feeling horrible about yourself....oh wait are we still talking about CoC. Oh yeah....go back down to gold and beef up your base. 1000 gems are ok, but go rake some leaves or get a job, you can get the $10 you need to buy them in a few hours rather then wasting weeks of your life sniping your way to masters. Just one mans opinion.
