1800 - 2000 definately
Can't count how many collector bases were there...
I can make 1mil/hour on a good day
1 mil an hour? That's insane, it takes me several hours just to get 3mil
crystal 3 drop down to no lower than 1900 cups, and still get bonus and gold 1 ,2 people to attack :)

I think that gold 1,2,or 3 are the best places to farm. I would love to push for masters but my greed leads my back to gold. I pushed up to crystal and while the bonus is good, the loot sucked. I found myself hitting next three time as much as I did in gold. After searching base after base I found myself settling on bases not worth much. In gold 1 there is loot everywhere for the taking.
I like Crystal III but very low, around 1930 trophies. That way you get the Crystal bonus and you get matched up with people as low as 1730 trophies.... It's been solid. I don't go higher than 2000 trophies and I never go lower than 1600 trophies... There's usually one good spot that has loot, you just have to find it.

Depends what th level you are. Th8 gold is the sweet spot. Th9 c3-c2 is a sweet spot. Th10 c2+ works good because of loot bonus and they won't find anything in the lower leagues.
At TH9, probably high crystal-low masters
Best farming really depends on your town hall level and what you are going for and how many times you must click next. Many people are playing many different ways, and I saw loads of 800k loot bases in crystal. In masters many have unprotected dark elixir storages the higher up you go as they are trying to trophy push to champs and would rather give free resources than lose trophies.
There is no one correct answer and it really depends on what you need most and how you are doing it. Farming for dark elixir is probably best in crystal or masters. depends on gold and elixir as to how you are raiding and what you want most and how cost effective your troops are. If you can steady get 20k in silver for only a cheap barch army, then it is probably the quickest and best place for you to farm, but the higher ton hall or upgrade4d troop means higher costs so you have to get more.
