Lightning Spell Reduced Damage When Used on Storages
Ok, read the sticky and didn't see this and there was a LOT to read.
As the title suggests, it is my belief, as well as many others within the CoC community, that having full damage on lightning spells when dropped on very full storages (especially when used by someone 2 TH's lower than you) encourages lazy farming and is considered by some, un-fair.
I would like to offer a suggestion: Create a 50% reduced damage when lightning spells are dropped on storages, while keeping full potency on all neighboring buildings. So if I attack you and you have a level 7 mortar placed next to your DE storage, I would drop 2 lightning spells on your mortar, to remove it from the battle. This would "steal" DE as well and is considered collateral damage.
Lets say the lightning overlap takes 400DE from your storage (it was pretty full), well, with my suggestion as part of the game you will only lose 200DE. And furthermore, if someone decides to waste 4 lightning spells on your DE storage they would get half of the numbers you have been seeing in your replays, all the while keeping the spells true value when removing defenses or battling clan castle reinforcements.
I am currently TH9 and carry 4 level 5 lightning spells at all times. Mostly they never get used, but on occasion I find a base that is a little "too well" defended and will take out 1 or 2 splash defenses (2 spells each) to help make way for my full attack.
In closing, having 50% reduced damage when lightning spells are used on storages would help balance the game and stop penalizing players with strong bases that have accumulated large amounts of otherwise hard to reach resources in their storages. The lightning spell only attack has increased since reducing creation time to 30mins per spell.
