Hey guys, i wanted to share with you my guide for 3 stars using the GOWIPE/WIWI-LOON attack. this kind of attack should help even the most experienced gowiwi/gowipe atackers.
I've been playing the game for a while, and right now I am a TH9. My favorite attacks (in war and farming) include loonion, lava (in wars) and minions. I like planning my attacks to the short details, as you will see in my videos coming next.
i'll be updating the thread as i add more videos and guides to it (whenever new insights come into my head). many of the videos contain a guide inside the videos themselves (especially the videos with my own attacks), and some don't (usually attacks of my clan mates). if you feel that the videos/guides weren't enough and you need some more explanation please let met know, and i'll do my best to assist!!

the idea of this thread
the idea of this thread is to help people plan their attacks, get better in clan wars, get their attacks to the maximum level, and earn "experience" by seeing others' successful attacks in war. Also, It should be an informative guide on scouting, so you choose the right base for your favorite attack and know how to execute it for best results. another idea is gathering used layouts in wars, and show how to 3 star them.
so lets start with the guide!!!
attack type: GOWIPE/WIWI+ balloons (gowipeloon)

usual troop combination:
2 golems
1-2 pekkas/4-5 witch
6-12 balloons
6-10 wall breakers
5-6 barbarians
rest wizards
3 rage
1 heal
optional: 2-3 giants/hogs instead of some balloons/wizards
scouting guide
- you are looking for bases with packed air defenses right in the center (or at least 2 in the center), or in the middle ring (wizards and the queen can take them out as well, once they reach the base core). this is the most important thing!!
- if there are less than 2 air defenses in the outer ring, and 2 in the center, start your golems next to the outer air defenses (unless each is on another side - we don't want the golems to be too far from each other). this way, the first air defenses will be down, and another two once you get to the center.
- if there are mortars / wiz towers in the outer ring, then awesome!!! use hogs/balloons to take them out (take few extra instead of wizards, since your wizards are gonna live much much longer).
- xbows pointed on air is better for you, since it got smaller range, and your balloons are going in after the xbows are down (as you are going to see).
- i don't recommend attacking bases with air defenses in the outer ring, as it totally ruins the idea of this kind of attack. those are best for air attacks!! check my guide for air attacks

Unit job:
the golem:
its main job is absorbing damage and making sure that most of the troops behind it survive and take out as many defenses/building as possible. nothing new here..
the pekka/witch:
main troops, together with the wizards to take out defenses/buildings as fast as possible. again, nothing new here.
balloons:
main job is to help out with the defenses left once the air defenses are down. allows us to avoid taking a jump spell and minimize the damage on the rest of the troops. those are the troops that give us the "final beating".
another mission might be luring the clan castle troops.
wall breakers:
you know what they do. just make sure you don't release them in the wrong place :D
barbs:
used to gather the clan castle troops.
wizards:
main fire power. used to hide behind the golems and take out everything on their way :)
giants/hogs:
if you took them, it must be for clan castle luring..
the heroes:
used as a defense for the wizards, and for taking out the defenses/buildings faster (same role as the pekka and witch). queen is very important in case the air defenses are in the middle ring.
rage spell:
used to make your troops destroy the core of the base faster.
heal spell:
use to gain some health back, especially your wizards. watch their health!!

the attack - tips and tricks:
first stage of the attack : taking care of the clan castle
- If the clan castle is easy to take out, use some balloons to take out defenses which are close to it in this priority: mortar (deadly for your wizards), wiz tower (deadly as well), tesla (deadly for your pekka), cannon, arch tower.
- if there's an air defense next to the clan castle, better take some giants instead and use them for luring. hogs can be used as well, if there's a good reason for it (taking out a mortar or wizard tower for example is a good reason).
- if the clan castle is out of reach (in the center of the base), start your regular gowipe/wiwi attack. many don't even bother luring the clan castle in this kind of attack, and just let the wizards take care of them during the attack. i would think twice before attacking such a base though. do it if you feel comfortable with it. for more reference, check my channel for gowiwi/wipe attacks and see how my clan mates deal the situation.
- if you got information about the troop combination in the enemy clan castle, use it to your advantage!! if you find out there's a dragon in the clan castle, take some more wizards!!
in this example, the clan castle is in a good reachable location. i'm sending 2 balloons at each cannon, lure them (and take out those cannons), and deal with them in the back garage (in this case dropping a balloon on their head) :D
the types of troops you'll have to deal with
whatever combination of archers+wizards+witches
lure in the previous method, and gather (with minions, archers or barbs):
drop one balloon next to them, in a direct line with the closest defense. make sure you drop the balloon at the right distance. if those are many archers with wizards, drop it really close to the CC troops. if it's just few troops, drop it a bit more far. the balloon have to get killed exactly above the CC troops and kill them:
make sure you don't gather the CC troops between two defenses with the same distance to them. you can't know where the balloons will go, and you might miss out the CC and waste more troops
never gather where the are red X:
dragon/minions/balloons
no worries, just surround it with some barbs/archers, and drop some wizards behind them. if needed, the archer queen as well. in this photo i'm using minions and archer queen, but you get the idea..
hogs/giants/barbs/any ground troop
use some wizards to help out after gathering them.
more useful tips:
- two level 4 minions are totally enough to kill a witch (you guys will have to check about other level of minions).
- level 5 wizards don't survive a maxed balloon splash damage. level 6 wizards do. so drop 2-3 minions right after dropping your balloon, or release 2 balloons together (so both will fall on the wizards).
- if your balloons missed few archers or a wizard no panic. just drop some wizards to kill them.
- if the balloon totally missed. regather in other location, or check that you release in a good distance and try again.

second stage of the attack : get the gowiwi/wipe attack in, untill the air defenses are down.
- decide from where to attack - my thumb rule is usually start in the closest location to the air defenses.
- drop the golems first, so the defenses lock on them (do not release them way to far from each other).
- drop some wizards behind the golems in a line (make sure you dont release them in a bunch, or mortars and wiz towers will have a happy day). save some of them for the end of troop release. in case the first one die by giant bombs, u will still have some wizards left!! about 1-2 wizards are totally enough for each building. if you are using witches, you can drop them behind the wizards.
- let some wall breakers in, to help get through the walls. make sure you drop them close to the golem but not right next to it, as mortars are shooting to those areas. watch the mortar shooting for best results.
- after the outer building are down, release the pekka, king and queen.
- rage and heal when needed, especially when you're in the core of the base. when dealing with clan castle troops it's important raging and healing your troops as well.
- watch the enemy air defenses. once they are about to go out, start releasing balloons on the opposite side of your attack. release just one on each defense!! it's totally enough.
third stage of the attack: cleaning
- sit back and watch the 3 stars with a big smile on your face.

GOWIPELOON vs HOGOWIWI attacking against level 25 heroes and almost maxed th9!!: me and a clan mate attacked the same base. she got higher level golems and higher level heroes. i only 2 starred it, probably because of a big mistake on the attack (watch the video). later my clan mate trashed the base with HOGOWIWI for 3 stars. can't really compare because of the troops level differences, but i still think it's interesting
