So nobody else has this problem, do you all get loads of Axe's or is it just me
It's not just you, but what you might not know is that you tend to get more of what you already have. Shortly after the bee update, as my axes got low, I hired Tom and sent him just for axes and saws instead of the usually shovels (thank goodness I had just finished helter smelter). Anyway I haven't needed to to it again since then. So you might try that.
But I will admit that I had a hay day Dream that instead of getting diamonds after maintenance or an update, Alfred brought a big box of axes! Wouldn't that be cool!
I had a pretty big stash of axes before the bee update so I've not really had the problem that lots of people are having. I had 51 when we started the bees, I've got about 25 now, but just used a bunch to harvest berries or I would have still had around 47. The drop frequency seems to come in spurts for me, so as long as I can keep enough to ride out the slower periods I seem to do okay. I currently have around 52 nectar bushes. Up until the last couple of days I had no dead wood....I've been keeping a fe of the bushes to use as decoe now tho.
The problem are not the axes ..but to many items needs to be removed by axes!
The honey bushes shoudn't need axes but just disappear!
I have about 10 dead honey bushes a day ...after a few months my farm is full of dead honey bushes!
As i see everyone has that problem! Why can't Supercell see that ? Because they want admit the problem!
Both Tiggerr and d2l5p2, show ways of managing the axes, and I manage things pretty much the same ways, and have no, and have not had any problems with axes, and have at least so far not used Tom.
Players with many dead bushes, have created the "problem" themselves, with their way of managing the challenges in the game.
I also seriously doubt, that SC will change more, than they already have - why fix a thing that isn't broken?
With that said I will only add, that I think the bees and nectar bushes are made the way they are, for the simple reason to make players use diamonds on Tom to get the axes, and players can choose to buy the diamonds needed, or to get hold on the free diamonds in the game. Sure SC prefer, that players buy diamonds, but that can be avoided.
Players have to choose to like the challenges or not.
I agree, even suggested more frequent ads in paper. Instead they advertise other items more frequently and you can only purchase 1 time /only receive 15 now instead of 20! It's starting to take FUN out and replace with Frustration! !
I've paid to play this game, so now at the moment I don't have spare cash to be able to afford to buy Tom , because of Christmas, my farm is starting to look a mess. You'd think that SC would give those who have spent a lot of time and money into the game, a bit of a hand when times are tough! That's called looking after your players, and making sure they are happy and don't start thinking about going elsewhere!!!
I can understand the frustrations here. I and other forummembers are maybe more realistic, and finding our ways to manage things, instead of hoping for a quick and easy fix from SC.
If diamonds are going to be used to get axes, then stay away from the offers in the DD. In my opinion, none of them are worth their price in diamonds, so use Tom instead. He will give a much better Daily Offer than the DD all the time.
If diamonds are a problem, look for ways to take care of that to, a way to try and do that is here can be found here.

Why not changing axes and saws so that they can be used for more than once.??!!
For example, let them be upgradeable to use it for let's say 10 times and after upgrade you can use it for 20 times, etc....
Please SC.....consider my idea, pleeeeaassse?
I am really sick of these dead trees and bushes! besides, It's so really sad that I'm using them as decoration now.!! LOL...
wow that was rather rude!! Thobi, read your replies through before commenting so you don't insult anyone else!
You're saying that I'm wanting a quick fix and am being unrealistic?! Joke!
no, I would like SC to be more helpful... There are plenty of bolts and screws being dropped but hardly any AXE'S which, to me, are way more useful and used up far too quickly with the amount of stuff that does all too quickly. i'll be lucky if I get 1 axe in 20 drops, it's just no where near enough. If this is a rather large frustration from other players then you would think SC would do something about it, but they are not, and I will only take so much until I head off somewhere else and spend my money.
I actually manage my farm very well and it was looking very nice until you see all the dead shrubbery building up.
Did you have trouble getting only axe? or both axe and saw? What is your current ratio of axe vs saw? For example, if you have more saw than axe, you might want to use up your saw more, until you have at least difference of 1 between them.
Let say if you have 25 saw and 5 axe, I suggest you plant more trees first but if in any case, you do not want to plant more trees, you can get help from your neighborhood friends to hold on to your 20 saw first. Then, try wheating for the next 2 - 3 days, see if you're getting back some axe evenly against the saw.
Trust me, it will help by keeping them balance (+- 1 of each).
I have lots of saws, they drop constantly. I like to keep my trees as much as possible and save my money, I don't want to keep buying trees all the time! But I see what you are saying about having too many saws. I might just sell a load, see if that helps, just hope I don't start having the same problem with the saws as well as the axe's!
Tom is a good idea, i hate that you lose half your time for him 'sleeping ' though, that should change, but back on topic the upgraded axe/saw idea is a great one, this definitely should be considered
I had absolutely no intentions of being rude or insulting anyone. If that's how you, and maybe other forummembers, feel it is, then I appologize, and I'm truly sorry.
About the game and SC, I see everything about the game from 2 sides - possible programming and SCs business perspectives. And when SC say they have tweaked the droprate of axes, I believe they have.
I'm in a NH, where zero members are having problems with axes, or other things btw, and we have actually made a little test with a member, who ran out of axes and stopped getting them. We started by putting 10 axes in that members barn, and suddenly that member started getting axes again. So if a NH member have any "problems", we find ways to fix it asap.
My barn is steady at around 40-60 axes, and maybe getting to a point, where there's to many saws in the barn, but am so far still getting enough axes from fields, animals, pets and the town to, and I use axes every day, to get beehive no 4 and other things to. If it changes, I will get rid of some saws, to see if that will change things. And if you have many saws in your barn, and keep getting more - hmmm, maybe it's the programming doing that.
So it looks to me, and that's just a guess and what other forummembers say, that a barn with zero axes are not really getting any from the game. So with the risk of being rude and insulting again, it's my opinion that farms with many dead nectar bushes, have them because the player choose to keep collecting from the beehives, and hoping to get the axes needed after, instead of giving the bees a little vacation til the axes needed are ready, that's in my opinion a management choice.
The logic about SCs business pespectives, explains to me why the bees and nectarbushes, and now also the ducks and duck salon, work the way they do - to get players to use diamonds to help speed things up, one way or the other. And hope the players will have to buy the diamonds needed, because they dont have them, and dont know how to get free diamonds. To me it is as simple as that, and we can choose to like it or not, it's business.
In my opinion, Tom is by far the best tool to speed up production of anything in the game. He's a fast and effective little kid, even though he needs his two hour nap after each run. Am not really using him myself right now, but we might start using him in the NH, one member at the time, to get a good NH amount of pillows and blankets and maybe a few feathers to.
I'm still not sure an increase in drop for the axes is the solution. I'm very short on bolts, so an increase in the drop of axes, which I already seem to get enough of would mean I would have even less chance of getting the bolts. I think if a fix is needed it would probably have to be something with the bushes themselves.
Or maybe you can try not collecting honey until you gather enough axes, as stated by supercell this game is about management, so please try and manage your Axe usage
It's also possible to keep an eye on the tradingthread. Axes do pop up there, just not super often, but it happens. http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...t-8%29/page452

And how would someone get hold of 200 axes? It's only my guess, and I would say using Tom for axes, to try and make diamonds plus tapes in to the needed planks. Creative thinking, about finding a way that work for this forummember, maybe.
d2l5p2 (Donna), if you have trouble with bolts, you are welcome to try and contact me, to see what can be worked out (KIK is preffered). I have right now 317 bolts, 226 planks and 120 tapes, and that's my stock of BEMs by choice, because I often have easy access to tapes, so I stay low on them on purpose, and for some reason I get bolts and planks more than tapes (my guess is programming).
Now my day is just over.
