Hog Riders Worth Upgrading?

So yeah I am th7, and just maxed my barb king and got my minion upgrade. Now i rarely use hog riders, but are they worth upgrading at th7?

What level can a TH7 take a Barb king to?

I use hog riders in a way that I haven't seen anybody else mention in the forums.

Yeah, they are worth upgrading them. They have key features that make them a hidden gem when it comes to raiding.

You can upgrade the king to lvl5 at TH7. Do you mind sharing your hog rider raiding strategy? I am upgrading them because I have too much DE but honestly I don't use them. I was hoping that they will become useful maybe at higher lvls (like wizards).

Ah okay thanks I guess I can upgrade my TH7 BK two more times.

Hmm, I don't see the point of wasting your DE on them. I don't know the proper way to use them, so someone should inform us. Anyway, The defenses ALWAYS go for them first, maybe they are good if you have Giants or another high-priority offender. If you're raiding with a low cost Arch-Barb-Gob combo or something of the like, they will eat Mr. T alive and it makes for a waste in DE.

Can you say how you use them and what key features make them a "hidden gem" to you? I'd love to use them but I don't have the slightest idea how to get value from them.

I've struggled to find a role for them at level 5. It's not that they're bad troops necessarily. But right now they're not strong enough that I find it worthwhile to use them rather than upgrading my AQ.

I think i will Upgrade Dark elixer troops when i have spare or even if i dont need any Dark elixir:cool: then ill upgrade Dark troops

I'm still perfecting how I use them, but at TH8 I have found a nice combo with them. It isn't foolproof but gets me a guaranteed star 9/10 times.

Maximize the efficiency of your troops.
