How does a lighting spell not work on CC balloons?

How is that possible i dropped it right on them? I shared the replay with my clan and they even said it looked like i hit them, but no damage

You have to drop it on the shadow, and the damage is barely noticeable anyway

don't listen to these people YOU CANT EASILY DESTROY BALLOONS WITH LIGHTNING SPELLS level 1 balloons have 150 hp and max level lightning does 75 damage each lightning bolt and 6 strikes so even if they do hit , only 1 or 2 will hit killing a level 1 balloon
