TH8 vs TH9 CW Attack Advice

Hi all

Possibly up against a TH9 and I'm not sure how to tackle it. I'll wait to see if we need the star or I can go for loot but it's pretty close.

I have lvl3 Dragons. As his ground def is pretty good I dont think I stand a chance there.

I'll do my best to describe it...

Square base. TH is 2 layers in on south side. Also on south side 1 layer is is x-bow and AD and CC.

Other 3 AD's are mid way on each side, 1 layer in.

All level 5+ AD.

X-bow right in the middle surrounded by storages.

I can guarantee 1 star spamming drags on south side...also no golems available.

Take and use a website like tinypic to upload a picture of a base. Being a near maxed TH8 I'm routinely matched up to TH9s in wars. I can tell you that dragon attacks have a very high failure rate against bases with 4 air def and 9 storages. If dragons are your best troop then go in from the opposite side of the clan castle to help draw them in. Rage, rage, rage for hopefully a quick **. If the base has lvl8 walls or lower it's gowipe for a solid ** from me.

I agree, gowipe if u can. If not dragon rage as suggested above

gowipe I believe is golem which I don't have yet, I heard giants can be used instead but having never used this comp before I didn't fancy it.

Anyhow, another clan mate opted to try with standard 11 drag and 3 rage for 2 stars.

X bows didn't present as much as a problem as I thought and cleared up pretty far, I was impressed.

I usually snipe out the air defenses with hogs and heal spells. Then send in dragons on the last AD. Positioning has to be perfect or it can end badly.

on the second line of the screen where you type the posts is a icon that looks like a picture. If you take a screen shot with your device you can hit the picture and it will let you upload it as a thumbnail that "we", the responders, can then click on and view. You don't need to use other websites or a bunch of descriptions.

Also, if you don't have Golems, this pretty much answers your own question, dragons was your only option. Can't use a high level ground attack without them (besides hogs). I assume if you don't have Golems, you have probably not upgraded your hogs or your pekkas so a ground attack is not an option. I always say don't change up your usual strategy on a harder opponent then usual, as the first time you use a new strategy you probably wont be as good at it, as your usual one. When you do start Gowipe-ing try it out a few times in raids and post them to your clan chat for tips, that will be better then messing up in war. Guess it seems it already worked out for you, but I never understand when people use outside websites to post pics on here, so it made me want to respond. Either way, good luck out there!
