TH8 War Base :: Anti Dragons/Hogs

This base is designed to be anti-Dragon, anti-hog, and have some anti-GoWiPe elements as well!

It's been well tested in wars, and has proven to be successful in defending attacks! It's succeeded in many Dragon raids, allowing only a single Star!

In a recent War, a previous design showed that it had weakness if one were to throw some Lv6 Loons after clearing a larger space with their dragons, and they raged their dragon into the middle with the aid of my barbarian king leading him in. Needless to say, I reformed my base to be able to withstand these:

-I expanded the core so that I could hide the Air Bombs inside, and if balloons try to float in, they'll be shredded. I've also removed the Barbarian King from the core, and replaced it with an Archer Tower!

The CC is extremely difficult to lure without expanding far too many troops, and has proven to aid the base greatly in warding off ground attacks!

It has yet to be attacked via GoWiPe, but I expect that it would hold well considering how wide spread the base is. Hog attacks have been abandoned on this base for the obvious reasons!

Though, I've never even seen a HoLoWiWi attack, I'd like to say that because of the range on my Ads, it would be rather useless to attempt it.

I kinda like it, might try it out next war. I like the distance between the core walls and the second set of walls closest to it, seems it would detour troops a lot more from coming inside the core.

Just saying but against dragons I realized it would be much better having air defenses more spread out, while also being protected by storages. Having them all in the core makes it actually easier for dragons in my opinion.

in my opinion, thats a REALLY GOOD base. The only thing i would change, is i would put one of those giant bombs that are next to each other somewhere else. It looks like the northern half of your base is very vulnerable to hog attacks.

I think that comes down to attack preference. Let's be honest, there isn't a single th8 that can hold back a properly executed dragon/dragoon attack. I personally prefer to go up against bases with more spread out ADs (im a rage fan and typically two rage spells will cover both ADs plus whatever is in between them) because those are usually more compact bases and easy to path with rage. Now centered ADs usually means one of two things; 1) they don't know what they are doing and one rage and a heal spell will cover 2(even three) ADs and pathing is easy or 2) they know what they are doing and it's a spread form base where the dragons will circle the core getting pounded by ADs unless you path jus right.

Very nice but storages aren't in range of ADs meaning dragons can clear a path from 6-9 come up that quardrent and rage over both ADs fairly easily.

Believe it or not, I've seen two TH9 attempts of that, and both failed. The double wide gap proves to be wider than one might think. The only time (and this was on a previous version) the base fell was to a Dragon raid that cleared an opening with dragons, allowing CC Lv6 Loons to come up into core where they took out 2/3 Ad under rage. That's when I redesigned to put the Air bombs in the core to help ward that off from happening again.

The other two attempts to rage the dragons into the core ended up with only 1 or 2 coming in to be pummeled with concentrated AD fire, and they didn't do anything, even under rage. Although, I can't say that this base would hold similarly under the same circumstances since it hasn't yet been tested. Hopefully though, this war, I'll have some confirmation.

I'm not the brightest guy in this game so don't take too much of what I say seriously, (I'm the guy that spent quite a lot of money on this game aka gemmer and recently made a huge mistake),but I think this base isn't that good because bases like this tend to fall victim to properly well thought out archer attacks. I've actually beaten bases similar to this with level 2 minions. It could be better in my opinion.
