Add some funneling to your base design and upgrade your AD. That will take care of that particular attack. Just remember giants always go after defenses. Center your AD so they are hard to get to. Problem solved on any TH level!

I don't think you understand what a cap means. It doesn't matter if there is 60k, 150k, or 200k the maximum amount that can be taken is 3k. Of the 3k cap, the amount that is stolen depends on how much damage was done to the storage. It is proportional to the damage done compared to the total health of the storage.
Ehh, think you are confused. They amount they get is a function of how full the stores is vs how much damage is down to the stores. So a max full de stores will give the attacker lots of de on the first zap. Vs if you have only 60K de in the stores the attacker will get hardly anything on the first zap. Destroying the stores at 60k or 200k will give the same thing. But you get more de per damage to a store that is full. I have lots of experience on this one!
Not many people are carrying enough zaps to completely destroy a max de stores. So it is a waste of time to zap you at 60k. I have been carrying 60-70k de and I have loss less then 1K de from 2-3 zaps!
At TH9 you simply go into Crystal/Master leagues and get sniped for 95% of attacks b/c of the broken league bonus system. I can't even recall the last time I've faced a Balloonion army on either of my accounts, there are certainly none in my 40 most recent defense logs.
At TH8 you're between a rock and a hard place. You can't take the TH9 route and hide your loot up in Crystal, b/c TH9/10s will come across you with their BArching/BAMing armies, and unfortunately a TH9/10 BArch/BAM army can significantly rock any TH8 base. They get the nice league bonus and will take your loot as well if it's decent enough, whereas a TH9 will simply get sniped regardless of how much loot that player has in storages. You can try hiding in low leagues, sure, but now the benefit of having your TH exposed is minimal as the league bonus doesn't offer much at all. If you're lucky a trophy pusher will find you quickly and snipe your base. But mostly you'll be skipped over by players who can't get to your storages, until a TH9 comes along and rocks you.
There's a tradeoff, though. At TH8 you can at least take what you need from TH7 storages and inactive TH7s, as well as take on some other TH8s. You'll get hit hard, but if you're active enough, or smart and do session raiding, you'll make far more than you'll ever lose. Your alternative is to head on up to TH9, where you can guarantee TH snipes all day, but no longer will you be able to farm at even remotely lucrative rates. Choice is up to you.
what do you think is the loot penalty for? grow up
To quote you from another thread:
Take your own advice, Xizeta: "Learn to adapt." There is no issue with raids being too "oppressive." The issue is with your poor attitude. Like you said, TH9+ loot problems should not be sympathized with because "there are tons of TH8s available to be steamrolled." Well guess what, buttercup? You're one of those TH8s.
Since loot is so "awesome" for you, why are you complaining about getting raided by TH9s? You have more than enough loot to keep all your builders busy and your lab going 24/7 anyway.
You could always rush to TH10 and unlock 2 infernos and 3 x-bows if you want a better defense
Er ..... think you need to chill ..... TH7 and 8 are the best places for loot .... admittedly I found 8 better ....
If you can't find a TH7 or worth smacking for his loot, or a new/premmie 8 or even 9 I'd suggest you are playing wrong, or far too high for current capabilities......
I'm a 9 --- I smack 8's and new9's ..... 10's smack me .... the 8's i smack, smack 7's ..... you see the pattern here -- its how the game works
Once you've got the loot, go get some more before you log off ... that way you can only lose less than you've raided --- grasp this simple fact, and you will eventually be able to have new shiny things, and can then play with the big boys.........
Also - watch the replays of your losses ... these often help with improving your base .... eg if you seem to be often attacked from the same point over and again, do something about it ---- a basic thing - but every little improvement helps - thats why we upgrade things, for their improvement - so you should "upgrade" your base design accordingly
There are a couple of things you can do:
#1. A couple of wizards in the CC. Just a few minutes ago I dropped 24 giants on some base and was reminded that the CC still works when being upgraded.
#2. Upgrading your walls.
#3. Funneling them into spring traps. Use hidden teslas to drag giants away from their initial paths.
If you are losing 2K DE at TH8, You are progressing much faster than average since you are obviously doing a lot of raiding. Once you get to TH9, giants become less of a problem, but they can still wreck a TH9 pretty hard if the player on defense are not doing #1-3. Think about it: 940 HP * 24 = 22560 HP, with the heal spells working to negate the AOE damage, the only hope you have for destroying a group of giants is heroes, cc troops and spring traps. So focus on those.
