Is anyone else trying to avoid leveling up?

I'm in a very competitive clan. We're not top dogs, by any stretch, but we haven't loss in more than 40 outings.

We have TH10's all the way to TH7's.

Saying that, as an attacker (and my main enjoyment coming from clan wars) I have decided NOT to level up.

Why?
My place in the clan stage will remain the same, or drop.

If I'm 10/20, I might maintain 10, or drop to 11-12.

So, I upgrade my units/items very carefully. It seems if I upgrade walls and troops, my level is not affected.

So theoretically, I can have a skull wall base, with some OK D units, and amazing troops, and still be a low ranking clan member.

Make sense?

Any of you guys trying this?

We had a lot of low alternative accounts in our clan (not for that reason, tho), and we got very easy CWs. The only problem is less loot and pretty boring CWs.

you know level has nothing to do with cw match making right?

Doesn't it adjust your place in the clan?

I'm not talking about gaining the edge in clan matchmaking, I'm referring to spots in the clan.

For instance,
Often times a rushed TH10 will be a higher level than a fully built TH8.
The 8 might have lvl 3 dragons, full walls, etc.

The higher level TH10 might have some decent D buildings, but nothing leveled up for attacking.

Walls and heroes do not contribute to your levels, but contribute to your position ranking in clan wars, and hence your clan's matchmaking.

There is absolutely no point in intentionally trying to avoid leveling up given ^^^.

defense is part of match making but not your level. Yes offense > defense gives you an advantage in war but has nothing to do with your level.
