Is it better to farm dark elixir while I'm th9?

I'm near max th9 defenses and I'm wondering if its easier to farm for heroes at th9. TH10 has more army space and better defenses, but has loot penalty. Should I farm for heroes now or just upgrade to th10?

DE farming gets easier at TH10 due to increase camp space, freeze spell, and level 7 barch.

Farming gold/elix for walls -- from what I've heard -- gets more difficult.

So it is a tradeoff.

I'm still TH9, so take this with a grain of salt, but my understanding:

Entering TH10 with higher level heroes is great because they can help you farm while you're waiting for TH10 upgrades to go through. Additionally, you will have so many high priority things to build (2 inferno towers and an additional xbow, for one) that you might not want to dedicate builders to heroes any time soon. This means that once you hit TH10, your heroes will likely be paused at whatever level you upgraded town halls at. Think about it. As a fresh TH10, you have:
High Elixer Priority:
4x Army Camps - 27,000,000 (no, not a typo)
1x DE Drill to level 6 - 16,500,000
1x Lab - 4,000,000
1x Spell Lab - 3,200,000
Barbarian Level 7 - 6,000,000
Archer Level 7 - 7,500,000
Total: 64,200,000
This is farming comp only - add another 15m to max Pekkas, 7.5m to max wizards, 6.75m to max wall breakers,

High Gold Priority:
2x Level 1 Inferno Towers: 10,000,000
1x Level 3 Xbow - 15,000,000
2x Level 2+3 Inferno Towers: 29,000,000
4x Max Tesla - 20,000,000
Total: 74,000,000
And this is just the high priority stuff!

My intention, after seeing how much of a struggle it was as a fresh TH9 (elixer wise) is to get my heroes as high as I can stand (probably mid 20s), then upgrade my TH. Once I'm a new TH10, I'll be using my heroes and continuing to use my level 6 Barch strat to 2 star TH9s. Once I get level 7 barch, I can probably start 2 starring TH9s using just troops, so I might start getting heroes back up higher.
