I farm with a 40 goblin/80 archer/12 giants/10 WB combo. Already completed Lvl 5 archer and giant upgrade. Would you do goblins or wall breakers next? I find that 40 lvl 4 goblins aren't cutting it anymore farming at TH8 but having to use so many wall breakers isn't that great either.
goblins first.
wallbreakers upgrade from 4 to 5 isn't spectacular -- will still need two for pink and above. having lvl 5 wallbreakers is nice in that they one-shot gold walls, but it isn't nearly the upgrade lvl 5 goblins provide (there's a reason SC didn't introduce lvl 6 goblins -- they're already really strong!)
Ok cool so it's still going to be 2 WB unless it's gold walls and I find myself having to farm higher lvl bases with pink and purple nowadays.
I vote Goblins! You will need 2 WBs no matter what you do for a while... Unless you decide to raid someone with lvl 8 walls...
Wall Breakers.
Depending on the range you're in. I find so many gold wall bases at ~1400 that being able to break them with one wall breaker is invaluable to me.
Goblins second.
goblins lvl 5 + healer spell vs mortar lvl 6 or wizard tower lvl 6 never die
Wall Breakers.
Yes, you need two WB to break lvl 6 walls (pink), but those two WB can also break lvl 7 and lvl 8 walls. Lets see you try looting a TH9 base with a lvl 4 WB.
Also, for bases using lvl 6 walls (pink), I still just use 1 WB and have giants to break it in a mere two hits.
Goblins lvl 4 and 5 isn't that much difference. Its just all about quantity rather than quality with them.

i'll respond again, just because this advice and reasoning is so incredibly flawed.
two lvl 4 WBs can break lvl 7 and 8 walls, too. the difference is that a lvl 5 wallbreaker can one-shot gold walls and a lvl 4 wallbreaker cannot. and TH level is really not relevant to whether or not you can loot someone's base. a mature TH8 is infinitely more difficult to raid than a premature TH9.Quote:

Most bases that you, a newishy th8, should farm have gold walls. lv5 wbs will half your wb usage.
until the wall breakers get some level of predictability back, i would go with gobbos. We used to be able to send 3 or 4 wallbreakers to pierce 2 layers of a cell, not the wallbreakers will all just run to where they want to...they are so broke IMO i cannot see investing in them.
you know where the gobbos will go and you seem to run 4x more (40) in your normal config... should be a nor brainier based on that.
