TH8 GoWiPe Help!

Looking for experienced GoWiPe users.

I'm using Max TH8 GoWiPe in my wars, and I't a guaranteed 2 Star Every Attack! I'm able to easily funnel my troops into the center of the base with ease and take the TH without any troubles at all. The only problem is getting that last star! I often lose a lot/too many Wizards by the time the center of the base is cleared out (even while using heal spells), and there's just not enough firepower to clear out the rest of the base; And Pekkas move far too slowly...

The only issues I'm having is cleaning up- So I need help in how to keep my firepower high throughout the attack!Deployment with golems to help to meat shield for wizards, usage/deployment of Wizards to keep them out of harm's way/clumped together for better heal uses, better heal spell placements?All aspects for improvements are welcome.

Should I save good chunk of wizards for after the TH is taken out? Should I replace wizards with something hardier (like Valkyries)? Alternate attacking methods that are better for 3starring?

--Lately I've been requesting Witches in my cc instead of a third Pekka, so that hopefully, the witches can clean up a bit faster... Also, I'm a near-maxed Th8 attacking other near-maxed Th8 bases, so maybe there's just too much defensive power for me to handle?

So far, my army composition consists of:

x2 Golems -lv2
x2 Pekkas -lv3
x7 WBs -lv5
x18 Wizards -lv5
X4 Barbarians -lv5(For cc luring-- if unable to be lured, I just take another wizard)
x2 Healing Spells -lv5
x1 Rage Spell -lv5

My last resort is to try to return to All Dragon attacks, but the bases I usually face have Maxed Ads, and I'm growing weary of them.

My guess is you're not spreading out your golems enough if you are losing a lot of wizards. The key is to position your wizards behind your golems. At the same time you want to have an idea which direction your golems will head after the nearest defensive structure is destroyed. You want to use enough wizards to get into the core. Try to save about 4 wizards to attack from the opposite end once your meat shields break into the core and the defensive structures on the opposite end start to attack the meat shields in the core.

Also, if the base has a lot of intersecting walls you might want to save the rage spell to help your troops bust through walls towards the end of the battle.

The biggest threat in GoWiPe will be mortars. Often times when golems get stuck on walls. Wizards get stuck on walls as well and mortars can wipe out wizards that are bunched together.

If you're able to keep the meat shields in front of the wizards, 2 rage 1 heal should be a better spell composition. The rages can help pekkas/golems/wall breakers bust through walls staying in front of wizards.

Good question. as a medium-level TH9 attacking other medium-level TH9s, I usually get two stars as well. Not sure it is realistic to expect to consistently 3-star maxed bases of your own TH level.

I agree that 2 rage spells and 1 heal will serve you better. Heal spells don't seem to work on golems, while rage spells are very effective on golems, pekkas, and wizards.

I would not assume that wizards are the problem. They are actually more predictable than pekkas. I use wizards in the cc, and suggest you try going with just two pekkas and use more wizards. I'm not convinced that one or two witches are an improvement over wizards either.

When you place the golems, yes, the spacing is important -- they should never attack the same building, or you're only shielding half as much area. Try using the BK in the middle as a third shield. Before you spawn all the wizards, check to make sure that any defenses in range are targeting the golems and BK. Maxed out wizard towers are especially dangerous.

so, first problem, I am using my psychic powers to envision your raids, you aren't doing anything wrong, but wizards always outrun golems/pekkas and go to the core only to get shot down early, this isn't your fault, it's a weakness of gowipe, what you can do to fix it is this: deploy golems relatively spread out, follow up with a small wave of clearing wiz (my gowipe comp has 16 wiz so I use 6-10 for this) then deploy wb and finally pekkas, now pekkas and BK run at the same speed as wiz so try to direct wb to keep pekkas on a straight path (wizards will always go straight first because they can shoot over walls while pekkas might not because they need to break walls first so surrounding structures might be closer) what I would do esp if wiz are dying to fast is drop your BK and then slightly after drop your remaining wiz, if it looks like wiz are really jumping ahead you can use Iron fist to let BK run in front and soak up hits, but the greatest recommendation I have for you is just switch army comp to gowiva, CHECK OUT MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL!!! Ty for responding; I want to say that my Golems are sufficiently spread out, but I know what you're saying, so maybe I'll double check my placement next time to assure that all defenses get hooked on them.

The tip with the rage spell is quite helpful! I might indeed save it; though, my only concern about it, is that I like to rage as many troops as I can, so I like to drop it while all the troops are clumped together near the middle so that it effects as many as I can. And I'm not too keen on grabbing a second rage instead of a heal, since my wizards die fast enough.

I guess I'll just have to play around with this a bit. Thanks for the advice, and more is always welcome! Try to remember though, that I am a TH8, not the average TH9/10 using a GoWiPe strategy ;)

TYVM! A few other TH8s and I, in my clan, were trying out GoWiVa, and messing around with it to see if we could get it to work. I haven't seen your chanel out, but to what it sounds like is that it could hopefully answer a lot of my questions! Thanks a ton for the advice with GoWiPe, and especially thanks for the GoWiVa direction! I'll definitely check that out!

Another thing to ask you guys! I've heard a lot of mixed opinions on luring CC troops. I've been luring CC troops (hence the barbarians instead of a wizard) If the base's cc is easily lured, then I'll do it, and use BK as a tank while two wiz take out the CC troops... (my current war's CC troops are all LV4 Dragons) My question is: Should I bother luring CC troops, even if it's easy; If I should, is it wise to use BK as a tank (what would be better)? And finally, if it's not necessary to lure CC, then should I rage my troops upon meeting CC troops in raid?

personally I never lure cc with any gowipe like strategy, if the cc is close to one side of the base I simply start the attack from another side of the base so that cc troops will come out soon after opening the first or second wall compartment (so that I can use the first rage spell to enrage wizards to kill the cc and enrage wall breakers to sweep into the base all at once, enraging troops over the first layer of defenses really adds a lot of momentum to your attacks and can be a big factor in whether you 3 star or not, if you've ever tried to attack a base from the inside you most likely lost right? because your troops couldn't build up momentum and defenses overpowered them, the first rage spell completely counters this effect), if the cc is either too close to the outside of the base or it is in a place that would make it bad to start my raid from I'll throw out 1 wiz and have a few extra arch in my comp with a drag in my cc to lure with arch and use cc drag to kill their cc, most times though in war I just ask a clan mate to switch targets with me lol:rolleyes:

Yeah, I would normally thing that this isn't an issue for me, but I happen to know tag there's a Lv4 Dragon in the CC, so taking it out this time is a must. And I plan on using GoWiVa somewhere in my near future (if I can get a good strategy down), but a Dragon would seriously screw up the Valkyries (even at Lvl2). The issue I'm having is using a heal spell for it. Maybe drop a rage on wizards while they take out the dragon...

I had gowiva trained up, lv1 valks at the time, 2 heal spells 1 rage, 2 golems, 6 valks, 16 wiz, 10 wb, 8 arch, the drag didn't cause any problems, I dropped a heal/rage combo at the start of the first compartment, drag came out, locked onto valks, valks quickly ran out of range from drag and wiz took drag down in a few seconds before it hit any of my troops, I'm not advising you to try this lol, but it worked for me
