Detailed Guide - How To Mass Barb TH10s for 2*s - NO HEROS - Huge loot opportunity

So I have had some flames posted on my mass barb raids since I have level 40 heroes, so I wanted to share this video and a written tutorial on how you can consistently farm and push in Master or Champ with my mass barb troop comp.

THE COMP:

160 barbarians
36 archers
4 wallbreakers
4 wizards
4 hogs
3 heal spell
1 rage spell
1 jump spell

Costing just over 200k with all 5 spells, the league bonus makes it very easy to make for an extremely profitable raid. I queue up a wiz, a wb, 9 archers, and 40 barbs in each barracks and two hogs in each dark barracks. Very fast to build!

THE METHOD:

1 - Scout first
You want to scout the base and look for a path to the core that has minimal chance of running into a giant bomb. Look for a place where you can enter into a compartment and then jump two walls into the core. Very few bases, especially high level bases, will not give you an option here. You need to scout where you will be entering the base and where you will be jumping to. Ideally, you want to enter at a wizard tower.

2 - Lure and kill
This is the only reason for the hogs and wizards. Use the 4 hogs to lure, and with any luck remove one wizard tower or mortar. It can't hurt to drop a few barbs before the hogs to take some shots and make sure you get the whole lure. Use single barbs or archers to pull the cc troops to where you will be attacking, bunch them together with back and forth barbs, then send in a few barbs and a few wizards.

3 - Clear the entryway
This is critical for success, so make sure you clear enough. Ideally, you want to clear 3 or 4 buildings on each side of the entrance so that there is no doubt troops will go inside. While clearing distracts defenses, use your wbs to blow a hole in the base. Don't be afraid to use some barbs clearing... as long as you have 100 left for the attack you will be fine. I like to save about 16 archers, some barbs and 10 archers to clear each side.

4 - Deploy the horde
This is where the hard work of the first 3 steps pays off. Now that you have a clear path, do a 3 finger drop of about 15 barbs. If using heroes, deploy them as well. Immediately drop your first heal so it covers troops entering the wizard tower's range. Then go right back to barbarians and three finger drop the rest of the pack. If you didn't need any to clear, feel free to save some. Just make sure at least 100 go in. You can also toss in any remaining wizards if you have them.

5 - Manage the raid
The first pocket should be cleared by the time you have deployed everything, so now is raid management time. Use your jump to get your horde out of the initial pocket and into the core. You have 1 heal that can be wasted if need be and they are getting hit by mortars clearing the pocket that leads to the core. Once in the core, drop your final heal and rage to cover as much of the core as possible. You will be amazed at how fast the pack of barbs melts absolutely everything in the core. Under a rage, no building lasts more than a second.

6 - Cleanup
Your remaining troops can be used to clear outside buildings to get you the 50%. You can also use your clan castle for this. Just be smart about it, and you should be able to get the 2* with ease.

CLOSING:

In closing, I want to share this video I did of the strategy where I sidelined my heroes. Seems to defeat the purpose of using barbs if you have to use 5 spells. No?

Wouldn't the train time of the spells become the constrain for raiding and looting?

Wasn't the point of using barbs was for it to be a cheap and effective raiding strategy with a short training time?

Come on guys, stop hating. It does not defeat the purpose to use barbs because its still cheaper than using gowiXX any day.

Glad to see someone does it to TH tens. I've done it a couple times on TH 8&9s. I carry the same spells while using barch at all times and I've found it to work amazingly. I just carry one less heal spell because I'm TH 9. Good job mate.

It is very cost effective, and can be used to push even in champ. Unless you are completely max, walls and all, there is a benefit to being effective yet frugal.

By using 3 heals, that also saves 45 minutes of spell time vs the classic spells for gowi or air raids. Unlike a traditional barch, you can get 2* wins regularly and steal those deep storage. The use of dark is minimal, and the troops train super fast.

Also, while nexting, you don't feel bad taking those full collectors and not using spells. Where with a gowi or air raid, it just doesn't feel as good to spend so much.

When pushing, it is really big to be able to get the 2* instead of just the 1*. Lots of people can barch for 50* with lightning, but this strategy gets double the cups and access to storages that standard barch isn't able to.

It's not hating..the title says huge loot opportunity, which leads readers to believe that the strategy is meant to be for farming. If so, then spells are not required.

If the point was to secure 2 stars against TH10s with loot as an afterthought, then there are definitely more secure attack strats for doing so.

Nonetheless, it's definitely fun watching mass barbs take down TH10s ;)

imo it doesn't work if you run into giant bomb (the healing wont help).
The layout in the vid is VERY suitable to your strat, but do you have some more vids? With different layout?

+ BTW no CC troops in this vid!

P.S. How often do you find bases like this? (with no gaps for giant bombs)

Absolutely... if you go to the YouTube site, it should have my channel "CoC Barch Pro" listed. You will see lots of other attacks with similar results.

Giant bombs are definitely the raid killer here, which is why scouting is so important. You have to find a path that doesn't have them. Sometimes I enter into the strangest compartments that most would just ignore, with the intent of jumping out of it into the core.

The big thing is that it nullifies the impact of infernos. With infernos only being able to target 5 at once, they just aren't a real threat. It takes an inferno 3 seconds to kill a barb on its own, and in 3 seconds the core is leveled.

A trick when using king (again, this was very intentional to show it is viable without heros), it is another tool you have. He will walk slightly ahead when you hit his ability, so if I can't dodge a bomb I try to let him plow through it while most are on other buildings to minimize losses.

Of you are willing to build on it and just look at this as a proof of concept type of thing, witches can be a great addition as well... skeletons target the same way as barbs, but move faster. This lets the skeletons trigger the giant bombs so you lose a lot less barbarians.

Honestly, most bases have at least one path to the core without giant bombs. You just need to practice scouting them. Lots of times they are in places most raids wouldn't bother attacking. For tactical reasons, you want giant bombs in places where you will likely be attacked.

When scouting a base, ask yourself "where would most people attack" and simply look for other places. If you want to post a screenshot of a base, I will gladly walk you through how I would attack it.

Also, as you master the art of mass barb, you can afford to use small waves to trigger some giant bombs. At the end of the day, as long as you have 100 barbs in the main assault you will get the core.

If you have high level royals, it makes it even more effective. If I see big loot but know there will be giant bombs, I will often do waves and save only about 60-70 barbs for the core smash. Knowing iron fist will essentially give me an extra rage and summon more barbs is a great feeling.

I tried to keep this guide to the basics so others can learn the strategy behind it, but there are definitely more advanced tricks out there. There really aren't many bases that can't be 2*d by this troop comp. It isn't going to get you the 3* that goho, gowi, or lavaloon can, but I can say its just as consistent as any of those for getting 2* wins once you master it.

Took 1/3 of the resources, with the bonus you covered costs but the profit for a 3 hour spell queue makes this completely not worth it. Add in the times when you fail, which will happen, and you're raiding for a loss. Glad to see someone thinking outside the box, but to call this feasible is a stretch.

You typically don't raid without your royals. This was more of a proof of viability video to show the strategy works. In reality (if you watch my other videos), you drop your king and queen right after the first small wave of barbs, drop a heal, then add in the rest of the horde.

With king, queen, and cc troops if you are pushing and looting, you will take most of not all storages. Other examples on my channel show huge scores. This was just because people were claiming it was my royals doing all the work, which this shows isn't the case. Add those in, and this becomes a LOT stronger.

As far as fails go, they are actually very rare. I moved back up to champ for the bigger league bonus and am still comfortably raiding with this comp. Losing raids, even occasionally, really hurts even getting to champ.

I am not sure but does Bk ability affect other non-summoned barbs as well?

It does. Easy test. While using king outside, hit his iron fist and then drop barbs in front of him so they hit the rage circle.

Yeah. It affects all barbs within the spell radius.

Pointless if you are using all spells. You are much better off farming low and then occasionally use all your spells when you hit jackpot.

Dead bases take forever to find and I'm not sure how a farm of a dead super premature base is really relevant to this Kruzkal. This is a strategy specifically referenced as being useable in master and champ. It is dual purpose in that it can be used to farm effectively or push effectively.

Not sure why you like to hijack threads with stuff that isn't relevant and try to provoke flaming... accept it for what it is, as proof of viability of an alternative strategy. You and others said it was the max royals making it viable, when this is just proof that it isn't.

If you don't like max barb, don't use it. Lots of people in and out of game appreciate the guide and replays, so give it a rest already.

This is just an average log with me working etc. between raids. If I have a day in this is every 30 minutes with no boost. I am sure a lot of people can Barch better than I do. But this is far more sustainable using spells sparingly for continuous Barch.

But this thread is not about him showing that he's in a wrong league and can't find any loot. There definitely is more loot the higher you go... people are farming in Champs... so, there is never a wrong league for loot. You just gotta be lucky - everyone has a good day sometimes, but also bad ones.

I'm not sure how good this is when pushing at th10 but I can tell you for a fact this works when raiding for dark elixir at th7-9. I've used this method for about the last 6 months except I use all heal spells and it is very effective. I also just referred to it as surgery barching within my clan. When you only have to go for one storage (de) it makes it easy to pick off the outside buildings to force your barbs into the middle at said storage. I'm assuming it is generally the same principle at th10 because you are also going for only one structure (town hall). Also, he was simply showing this video as proof of something, but you normally don't even need a rage because if you send your barb king in with the barbs you can use his rage instead. It will encompass all the barbs and it is more effective since his rage moves with them. Like he said it will clear out a core very quickly.

Some of my clan mates also had some bad luck, so they shared the replays and we broke them down. I think a common theme when new is breaking into a large compartment. Always look to enter a pretty small one, as jump is much more effective when the only choice left for troops is jump or hit the wall.

Also, lots of people were trying to be overly conservative with their heals... especially the first one. ALWAYS enter under the safety of a heal, even if the wizard tower is going to drop quickly. Mortars aren't gonna one shot barbs, but they reduce their health enough that point defenses will kill them quickly. With the heal spell down at the entry point, you know your barbs will be full health and more will be alive for the jump to the core.

If you have higher level jump spell, plan it out during the scouting phase. After you lure clear and break, go ahead and put the jump down before the mass release. Remember the barbs will try to clear the compartment, so put it where they will be finishing up.

Hope this helps and feel free to share bases you are considering, as I would be happy to share how I would approach it.

Thanks for sharing this strategy. It is nice to know there is yet another viable pushing strategy against TH10s. I assume when pushing with this army, you only need to boost spells and heroes which is another positive.

Thanks for the positive feedback! You got it... just spell factory and royals boosted. What I do when either farming hard or pushing, is mass barb when spells are ready and mass archer when they aren't. I look for snipes or collector raids and usually after 2 no spell raids my spells and army are ready to go again.

Up here, it is really effective for farming dark. Minimal dark is used (260 for the lure) and there are lots of juicy 3k+ dark storage all over up here. Past 10 raids in my log have 26000 dark stolen, plus the league bonus is another 12k.

For those who don't have max royals, this strategy is definitely efficient for getting dark. Minimal dark cost yet provides a chance to take pretty much all their dark.

If you are going to try it, just know it takes time and practice. This guide goes over the basics that with practice should get you effectively hitting enemy cores. However, like all strategies, there are some minor tactics that can make a big difference once mastered. The way I mastered it was to start on easier bases before going straight for that maxed zap wall target. Start on preemies and work your way up.

For those of you that are TH9, this should teach you not to fear the infernos. The biggest threats to mass barb are giant bombs, wizard towers, and to a lesser extent mortars. Multi infernos can only hit 5 targets at a time and take 3 seconds to kill a barb on their own. If you get 100 of them into the core with a rage and a heal, the infernos are just about as threatening as little bombs.

Thanks for the help but my barbarians got slaughtered again. Maybe it needs th10 barbs? I'd like to share a replay but I don't know how.

Tried again. At TH9 my max barbs under a max heal spell didn't even get out of the small first compartment with the max jump spell.

I'd love this to work but it seems far too fragile. If I was getting near to a good result I'd carry on but I'm getting nowhere, except lower in trophies very quickly.

So I apologize for the delay in getting back to you... have been busy with the family. Without seeing the replay, it is hard to tell exactly where you are going wrong. My guess is either scouting, deployment, or spell placement. I have added a link here that shows mass barb not only walks through infernos, but PAST them. I will comment on these three common errors that I see those learning the strategy making:

1) Scouting - You want to make sure you envision the entire path to the core before dropping a troop. Take note of where the splash (mortars/wizards) are and make sure the entire time you are in that are that you are under a heal. No 2x2 squares is ideal, but easily tested ones are okay. You want SMALL easily planned compartments. If it is a large compartment, chances are the pack will go to a building in there instead of jumping. Southern teasers are great targets because you completely ignore the teaser large compartments and just jump over the complex wall structure into the core.

2) Deployment - It is critical to lure (which I recently changed from 4 hogs to 4 loons) and safely deal with opponents troops from a safe entry point. This is where the makeshift 2 witch 2 wiz 3 barb comes into play with my troops. First, drop single archers or barbs at a time after the lure to make sure all of opponents clan castle troops are outside of all walls and away from the defense. If you can bunch them all together, even better. Deploy 3 barbs first, then 2 witches, and finally 2 wizards as far away in a corner as possible and all in the exact same spot. Flank both sides of enemy troops with single barbs until skeletons are out. Clear a solid path so your barbs go inside and do not wander. Then use at LEAST 3 fingers to mass deploy your troops. Get everything going in at once except some cleanup troops.

3) Spell placement - This is also critical. As soon as the pack is entering the first edge of splash damage, make sure a heal is already on place for them to cover as much ground as possible. Anticipate where the last building in the compartment they are in will be destroyed and use that to jump 2 walls onto the core. Jumps last much longer than it takes barbarians to kill a small compartment, so put it down early in anticipation. As they jump to the core put down both a rage and a heal covering their path in the core right away. Use final heal as needed either before or after the core.

My next big goal is bringing in a TH9 apprentice that i can work with to take out mid th10s using this comp.

While this may be sold as a "huge loot opportunity" it is very inefficient for farming, over the last 3 days iv been able to farm around 25Mil of both, finishing up my final defence upgrades and a good proportion of level 10 walls, 👍

Taking advantage of the boost 1 gem each at the moment, iv been using BAM, literally no spells and one hero, queen is down for level 25. While loot per raid may not be as high, the rate in which the loot can be gained is far higher, I'm afraid if I was going to use an army which relied on heavy usage of spells, I wouldn't call it anyway efficient. especially as I can have the same results at the same level, with an air army, with one spell, and a training time of 45 Mins, cost wise it's probably just as efficient, and about 70,000 elixir cheaper.

Your heros are level 40, that's a massive addition to any small army, and have seen heros alone demolish at level 40 dominating the battlefield. Your trying to pass of an idea which is generally backed by your heros, and that's cool, you got them, hell you should use them, but not everyone has them.

But understand why people are as you would put it "flaming" when all I have read is the negative side to your erm, idea, it's not flaming it's just feedback, not the feedback you wanted but still just feedback, the idea is your trying to seek is generally backed by your heros, and just is not time efficient, and with calculations its not looking cost effective either this making it highly inefficient.

Id rather stick to my BAM'ing at 2,400 trophies and when pushing I will switch to air and then golem based above 3,200.

I am not sure if I would try this for farming, but will use it in clan wars when we are winning by a large margin. If it goes well, my clan mates will be thrilled, and the enemy TH10s will be shocked.
