Plus, they look wicked awesome at level 10 and 11.

TH7, maxed cannons, wizard towers and mortars. Working on ADs and ATs at the moment, then teslas will be my final defensive upgrades.

Yeah, talking about TH8. Stat should have read Stay at. Since then though, they have added a wizard tower and increased Tesla and Dark Barracks levels.

I recently started to upgrade my town hall to level 8. As it finishes up, allow me to explain my base.

Max Archer Towers, Cannons, Mortars, Wizard Towers, Clan Castle, Army Camps, Researches
2 Level 5 Air Defenses (Could be level 6)
All my walls are pink, and 20+ are purple.
Teslas are both level 2.
Elixir Collectors are all level 8, and Gold Mines are at 9.

Dark Elixir Barracks and Storage are both at level 2.

So I tried pretty hard to max it. I did a pretty good job - every defense but teslas and air defenses are maxed.

Was it a huge mistake to not do those, the teslas, and max out my walls? I heard TH7 is the best place for farming gold, but really I only attack TH7's anyway so the loot penalty will not be huge and I will have better troops.

And, FYI, I have read the horror stories. There is no way I am stepping foot on TH9 without maxed defenses. Even if that takes me 3 months.

Oh, and another minor question. I go away to summer camp, in the summer. Will my account be deactivated with 2 months of inactivity?

To OP, you didn't rush it at all, you max most of the defense (except Tesla). And if your researches are all done, rather go to TH8 than let them idle.

Anyway, you miss some opportunity of easy loot.
1) Easy DE to upgrade your Barb King. Chance of attacking (premature) TH9 for 150%
2) Easy Gold for the Walls by attacking TH6 with only 10% penalty (TH8 attack TH6 get 50% penalty)

I don't think the inactivity will cause the account to disappear. Can you just have someone log on for you every week or so?
