It's mostly because it's teenage kids and young adults designing the bases. Cool is everything.

I've come across some pretty funny ones. Usually they just put "death" in front of any word to make it cooler. Like: Death clan, deathlords, and one called death killers haha. Only one that ever stood out that I remember correctly was someone named "Don't raid me!."
