Yeah sure, let's hire Mods that don't know about the game and don't interact with the community, I am sure that will work because as of now the current mod system doesn't work /Sarcasm.
Why hire people when there are those that will do it for free?
LOL
trolololololoooool
The current mod system works exceptionally well. Actual members of the community are chosen to help represent and moderate that same community. This way we have people who actually understand members in those positions of power.
If you were to hire moderators, you would lose all of that community experience and invite bias.
Your right mp, the current mod system really does not work. I certainly do not care what a mod has to say about issues and would rather hear directly from someone at SC. In my opinion or what i visualize is that a mod is nothing more than a player living in his parents basement. They should go out and get a real job vs being a parasite on society. I suspect i will get blasted for that, however, thats my opinion and in the U.S. we are still free enough to have opinions for now...
1.) It is important to have some employees on the Forum that are under direct control of the Company to give new Information or give direct Feedback from the community to the developers in a compact form.
2.) On the other Hand These employees are paid workers and in most cases do not Play the game themselves or at least not on the same Level. Here it is good to have some high experienced Players that volunteer for mods and who says that they do not get some Money. I think it is more useful having a high th10 Player from champs as mod (or even a Youtuber like Daddy) than hiring a new employee that has never played the game and only did some cummunity Support for hay day or boom beach that get a gemmed max th10 account for work with filled with lots of decoration.
@beachbum: So you think hiring some low cost students for a week end job and Show them how to dump loot threads will give more Information? A community Manager in most cases does not create Information. He only passes them up and down from the developers (for example the sneak peeks). The reason why we get so few Information is because Supercell has a very restrictive Information policy which is common for most big companies. I was beta tester in a Microsoft game and I can till you it is much worse there.
The moderators have a constant chat going on between themselves and the staff, so the answers that they give nearly 100% of the time are the exact same answers that you would get from a staff member.
They aren't parasites on society, nor are they no- lifes sitting at the computer all day. They're normal people with normal lives who just have a higher rank on the forums. They still have a great deal of interaction with the community and often know better than the admins how to directly respond to any given situation.
A whole lot of assumptions in this post. The mods work along side sc staff daily. I believe they have a skype group and are able to stay in contact regularly and directly with sc staff.
You are as free to have an opinion as you are to make yourself look like a fool. Let freedom ring!
Correct.
If you hire employees to act as moderators you take away community experience and mutual trust. Additionally, if you hire a moderator instead of chose a volunteer, you are almost guaranteed to have bias towards the employer, which would make the community extremely lopsided.
