This question came up while i was blasted apart by a maxed th10 in clanwars with level 40 heros and only 40 mil goldgrab...
Would you be willing to pay 10 dollars for this game, removing gem buying and making this game fair.
Instead of a freemium pay to win game?

I would, but that business model isnt that profitable for supercell. So forget it.
Maybe paying 10$ for weekly boosting is worth it. Personally I didn't but might do in the future. But I'm against buying resources because the cost is horrible

The idea is it is free, so people download it it, get addicted, then start splashing the cash.
If people had to pay for it originally no one would download it.

I highly doubt I would have paid.
The only reason I started playing this game was because it was free to play. Maybe with the popularity it has gained I might have bought it once I heard the rave reviews, but not to start.

Tbh, I think it's a fair deal. Either you pay to get stronger or you spend time in doing so. The gemmers PAY! They don't get anything for free. Which means they deserve it.
As for the attacker, it doesn't matter if he's a gemmer or not. What matters is how he attacks you. If he makes a good attack, this means he's a good player.
The only difference between us & gemmers is that we spend time while they BUY the time. Simple as that.
The $10 you wanna spend on closing down the offer, why not spend it to buy gems?

1.) Yes I would gladly pay 10 Dollars for this game, but most other Players would not especially the new ones and without the possibility to let all your friends/Family members Play for free, this game would not be the game it is now.
2.) I would never gem ressources for a building (other than boosting on a 1 gem Special) and I would never gem the build time, because this is an important part of the game and the whole economy, but I really like the idea of boosting barracks.
3.) I would gladly pay more than 10 Dollars or a monthly fee for a premium account with better clan Management Tools (for example writing personal Messages to members of the clan) or priority Support (waiting 2 days instead of 2 months).
4.) If you gem your base and heroes you loose lots of Money, but you do not get any skill by gemming. These are the first People I kick from the clan or exclude them from clan wars if they have a th10 base with one wall around the whole base with lvl3 troops and no skill.

I know paying a flat amount wont get your game popular, and wont bring you the succes coc has, as to a free pay to progress game.
Its just a question what people would do right now, knowing the game, would you do it?

The person who beat in in your first post is the reason most can play the game for nothing. They spent most probably a few 1000$ plus on the game. You should be shaken their hand and thanking them.
I'm happy for them to choose to pay so we can play for free. You shouldn't have anything against gemmers. We all make the choice of how to play the game (gem or farm) but whichever someone chooses shouldn't affect whether you respect/like him/her or not. :)
I don't gem, but if nobody paid to play, then this game would not be so popular and free. Let each player play how they want to.

Just a simple question. Which option is better you paying 10 bucks each month or few gemmers paying that on your behalf? Since SC has to get the money from somewhere to make those awesome updates and keep on improving the game.
Personally, I would like to say a big 'Thank You' to the gemmers for making this awesome game free for me always forever. I hope you guys keep continuing buying gems :p
Gemmers just suport the company if the game was free and we could not buy gems supercell would not be able to keep up plus in the league im in therre are tons of gemmers with easy base ;D

It's a good idea and as much as I'd like to make the game fair, it's not, and the $10 charge would limit the amount of people who play the game, and if few people played then it would get boring fast.

Just recently, I attacked with 12 maxed dragons and maxed spells (and I haven't gemmed anything), and completely failed at the raid and watched as my dragons were ruthlessly butchered.
Even with max troops you won't always win.
If I had to pay in the beginning I wouldn't have. If I had to pay to keep my current account I'd be mad but I wouldn't pay.

The community would be cut down to a fraction if everyone had to pay upfront or a subscription.
Ad games don't usually generate enough revenue to get as far as CoC. With all the nexting I barely play anymore so I guess my point is moot though. But in all honesty the question is moot as well.
Gemmers pay for time, everyone else plays for if. Without the whales there wouldn't be a TH 8 or anything later then that.

No. Not mch people would be willing to pay 10 dollars for a mobile app. And supercell wouldn't make enough money to make the game the way it is.
I voted no. I never would have started the game if I had to pay $10 and I'm sure alot of people are in the same boat. Less people=Less bases=Less loot which would make the game much worse.
If someone buys gems it's their choice. I have never understood why people dislike others for it.
No I wouldn't pay monthly. To be honest, well I enjoy clash of clans, I don't think the game would be worth playing. As has been said the amount of players would go down. I also like the idea I can skip the wait time. You're taking away a feature and forcing me to pay for a game I have to play a fair amount to progress in... on my phone? No thanks.

No.... started it because it was free.... no way i'd pay £10 to try a phone app......
Have used/purchased gems to speed up barracks every now and then..... hate waiting for armies to build, so treat myself to some boost sessions... happy the way it is...

This is a not a "pay to win" game. This is a "spend a ♥♥♥♥ ton of time and effort" to win game. Just because you gem doesn't mean you do well. I've been in clans that have tons of gemmers, but they don't have the skill to back up their level. The same happens for lots of people who gem. May have maxed base, but I bet you couldn't get two stars on a TH9. It still requires skill to get as high as they do.
Sorry, but this poll is ridiculous. The people who pay this amount are what keep the game free for farmers, people who can't buy gems, or people who only buy occassionally.

id pay 10 dollars for the game, but I wouldn't remove gems, boosting is fun for me, I like raiding, boosting lets me raid a lot more often. and I don't want that feature taken away, not all gems go to gemming you base
I've been playing the game since April 2013, sure I have bought some gems. But I farmed by far the biggest majority of my base. I have spend way more than £10, as I guess most people who have bought gems have.
Ultimately if people weren't buying gems we wouldnt see the investment in developing the game in updates, the game would probably have run its life by now and be dead.
I wouldn't pay £10 for a game in the app store.
I actually think that removing gems and making the game cost at the start is a silly idea, sorry.
