My thoughts exactly when I was th8. 1 mil per bit of wall!? Outrageous!!
But now I'm TH9 with maxed defenses and what else do I have to spend the loot on? TH10? Na I want at least lvl 20 heros first. So while I upgrade those I'll do my Legos. Even when I started the Legos I thought this is it, no more walls after this and I'm already getting the lava itch.
Sounds like you have completely maxed TH8. And I think your mind might change when you've done everything at TH9 except those walls.
Great idea! Just make sure you have lots of loot available!

I prioritised defs over walls because I think they are most important. I've now got a max def base with skull walls. I still think this was the best thing to do, but now I have to start legos. nothing else to spend the gold on :(
Stopping at skulls is like buying a volvo car when you have the ability to buy a ford mustang!
pretty sure you will change your mind when you have full storages and thing to upgrade but walls

You might be right. I might find myself mid-th9 with lots of loot to dump into walls.
But I'm definitely not going to make them a priority like I have in the past.
1) jump spells
2) air attacks
3) extra wallbreakers
You can always just work on a Lego core
I would say farming specifically for walls is useless, but there will be times when you'll just have too much elixir, so it goes in walls
