when I saw the price of 500k along with that beautiful wall, I thought it would be hard to do. I'd be in awe at max skull wall villages, but after being th8 for a little over a month, I've finished over half of my skull walls AND defenses...what are your opinions?
18 left and can't wait to be done! 😊
Hated them at first but after I finished maxing everything including walls they'd seemed like a breeze. I feel like each wall level will be like that from here on out.

Skull walls are extremely easy to do for a good farmer. I only had 75 lvl8s when I went to th9 but I only have 81 legoes to go at the moment before i start the lavas. Still sitting at th9 since i find the loot to be so good. I have been doing 3-4 lvl 9s a day for the past month.

33 left, Silver 1 has really been a great place to get them on average I get 5-10 walls a day.
It was a total marathon but totally worth it.
I did them pre elixer update. The price increase seems overwhelming compared to purple walls but rather easy now. 2-3 raids and get 2 walls done? Yes please!
I got to th8 october 4th from being a maxed th7.
I have 100 skulls done.
And that's not even focusing on walls. I do 2-3 when a builder opens up before doing defense.
Once defense is maxed I'll probably be done.
Did them before the wall update, did about half of them whilst maxing defence and then completed the rest while waiting for the lab. Thought it was quite easy.
Looking back at it, they weren't that bad. Lego walls is when it starts to really become tedious
They were super easy before the elixir for walls update. Now they're a cake walk. Level 9s are easy now too.
At your level I was farming 7 mill per day so skulls were easy :o
Just finishing lavas 20 left at 3 million each..... They took a bit longer! LOL
I first thought it was way too much to do it.. But after a while, I got used to it. I believe I did all of them at th 9. Now I'm working on level 9 walls. If you farm enough, it shouldn't be a big problem.

Honestly it seemed like hell at TH 8, but finishing the last 50ish at TH9 was super easy and I'm doing Legos like they're nothing right now. Ofc, elixir w/ walls really helps make it less painful.
It took me under 20 days to do them all. I had a 4 day weekend, and was able to grind out about 115 I think without boosting, then slowly got the rest done over then next 2 1/2 weeks. I was barching around 1450. I have no idea where to find loot for TH8, I'm TH9 now. They actually weren't that bad. I'm dreading these Legos tho :/ My goal is to get them all done in around 2 - 2.5 months.
I was dreading farming lvl 8 walls too as the jump from 200k to 500k seemed huge. But as it turns out, I am farming more than my builders can use. So I decided to upgrade skull walls as it seemed a better use of resources than giving out 550k resources to competent attackers twice a day.
I have about 65 now, getting 4-6 every day. They should be done by the time I start my TH9 upgrade.
Found them pretty easy, they were done pre elixir update, finding legos pretty easy so far although they are not my focus at all
Skulls are easy (pre update to wall elixir upgrade). I thought that lego will be grind but with the new update it become easy as well. I believe the wall grind start on lava walls.Quote:

They are not really expensive, but they still take a while. I just upgrade them when I have too much of a unneeded resource, depending on what I need at the time
They were hard at first, however once you get a good farming routine going, you start knocking those walls no sweat.
Everyone's all like "it was easy" and I'm just over here in the corner like really? Lol doing those walls were the one time I considered quitting COC, I was very busy with essays and projects and whenever I'd think of COC and doing those walls I'd just be like "NOPE", and do something else. I did them in an record breaking two and a half months :rolleyes: For about a month, I just collected resources, maybe did a raid or two if my army was trained and I had the time. Once I got less busy, I decided to get it over with and became more active again, doing 6-7 walls a day. I finally finished them and I was so damn happy lol. Now that we can upgrade walls with elixir, things should be a lot easier, I was sitting on full lix storages the whole time :p I'm looking forward to Legos now with the new elixir upgrade ability ;)
Fairly easy, i did them in about a month and a half or so. Right now i've been farming legos for a couple of weeks and i already have more than 30.
When you get to lavas you see them really easy. When I did them I didn't take me too long to finish I was at th8 when I did 50 of them then did the rest at th9. But I should have done them at th8. That was 4 or 5 month ago. Now I won't go to th10 before maxing every single wall in th9
Lv8 Walls = Piece of cake
Lv9 Walls = Not that bad
Lv10 Walls = This is where the grind starts (currently at 100 lavas)

I had my skulls done 2 week's before I had all my buildings maxed and TH to level 9. I did not have my Mines or Pumps maxed though. I just maxed my gold and put the leftovers into my skulls before doing the next upgrade. I did not keep a builder free for walls.
Th 9 I changed mt tactic for a few reasons. I kept builder free so he could upgrade walls with gold and now elixir. I started to barch and boost 2 of barracks. I would just been a sitting duck for another TH 9 or 10 with maxed storages. I had my Lavas done after being a TH 9 for 3 months roughly. Stress free raiding now mainly for DE to get my heroes close to level 30 before I go to TH 10.
I am only a few weeks in to th8, but dumping excess into walls before a builder starts a new project seems to be knocking them out quickly.
Its reasonably likely my walls will finish very close to my defenses, providing little to no dedicated wall farming time.
People who have responsibilities and not enough time to spend all day everyday on some mobile game will find the walls and basically everything after TH7 irritating. It's how the game is designed. I didn't bother to max all mine before moving to TH9 because I was getting bored of the game. I only have time to raid a couple times a day. Unless you don't work, don't have to study an have no social life, it will take several months for those walls.Quote:

I remember thinking skulls walls were a helluva job. But the way you experience time and effort in this game changes as you progress. The same way 2 days upgrade time seemed to take forever, whereas nobody even blinks at 2 week upgrades once you hit TH10. I don't pay attention to upgrades anymore. They barely influence the way I play nowadays. That level 13 AT isn't going to make much of a difference, etc.
I'm very casually doing level 9 walls now and think they are fairly easy, so there you go, it's all relative up to a certain point. I'm not a grinder so walls are of not particular interest to me. Though I think we can all agree that lvl 10 & 11 are respectively a chore and almost a job. But up to and including level 9 it's all in the eye of the beholder.
yeah theyre pretty much expensive but barch and attack at -200 trophies and there you go. also, in th7 i maxed half of my walls under a week
edit: the elixir wall upgrade really helps
walls are pretty easy to do until lvl 10s, then it gets a bit challenging. skulls took me about a month while also upgrading defences (not focusing on walls only)
They were really easy for me at th8.
But i didn't farm a single skull at th9 because there are a lot of things to do at that point.
Then i again started to farm them at th10.
Did mine in 9 days during the Christmas 2013 1 gem barrack boost. Pretty painless really.

i found them very easy. i would fill my stores before each upgrade was finished and stuff it all in walls and then onto the next upgrade. that was also in the day of only gold to up walls. i finished them way before i finished all my defences. now im going to start on lvl10. ive nearly maxxed all my defences at th10. cant wait to get them alll to lvl 11
Very easy tbh If I really have one builder just for walls for a week I would done my 225 walls
Currently left 80 :) have to slow down since my defense is only like 70% maxed
On a scale from 1 to 10 where 1 is "hella easy" and 10 is "ain't nothin'" i'd give it an 8.
In those days I used to make from 8 to 12 level 8 walls a day and it felt strenuous. Now my average is 3-5 level 10 walls each day, 8 yesterday.

It's not that i think it is hard to upgrade walls, it's that until now i have always foccused on having my builders at work all the time. So i only did walls between two upgrades with what i had available that was not needed for another upgrade.
Now the cheapest upgrade i have is a 6.4M canon, so it's harder to have everybody working. I also have no more building to upgrade with elixir and a labo only working on Dark Troops ATM, So walls are upgraded with any elixir i have.

it took me approx 1 week to finish my skulls back then.
I've been casually farming them for about 2 weeks, and I already have 52 skulls
This is pretty much exactly the way I did it (except the walls with elixir update occurred a week or two after I hit TH8 so I was able to make most of my skull walls with just elixir). I spent the first week or two mostly upgrading elixir buildings and spending the gold I got on the new walls for TH8. Then when all the important elixir buildings were done I started working on gold buildings while spending most of my elixir on walls. All walls were skull walls before I finished leveling all my buildings with all 5 builders active all the time so skull walls did not feel like any real work because they basically took care of themselves (I suppose I probably would have played a little less if there were no skull walls since I would need slightly fewer resources, but I rarely had to play more than I wanted to just to get money for skull walls). My mines and pumps are also not maxed (they are the only buildings I am willing to go to the next town hall level without maxing first).Quote:

I find the way the game works to be a little frustrating at times too (mainly because I find myself playing it more than I feel I should). My main issue has less to do with how long things take at higher levels (which is fine) than the fact that you cannot play the game casually. You can't simply raid when you feel like it because you will lose your shield and then be attacked for potentially more resources than you gained in your raid. Thus, in order to get anywhere when saving for expensive upgrades you need to play hours in a row. You can still "have a life" but you have to incorporate touching the screen on your phone every 5 minutes into that life. I don't play clash of clans when I am out, but when I am at home I had to find a way to incorporate touching my phone every 5 minutes into my daily routine in order to progress. I would be much happier if there were a way to protect your resources while still playing casually, but sadly this is very much a PvP game that is entirely designed around stealing the resources of less active players.Quote:

Felt good when I finished them in th9.... I took Halloween off, and kept all skulls to go with pumpkins.... I Liked the look of them, and was a bit sad to start on lego's. ....
Oh it was real easy. I didn't even farm for them, just bought them when my builder's were busy doing other things.
It was probably harder when you couldn't use elixer for walls but now with the update its way easier
