Anyone else have this Elixer problem?

I have been having an elixer problem in my clash lately. It's really been since walls have been upgraded with elixer, but this is a little late to post. Anyways, my clan is in a war as of now. I upgraded my "good" dark barracks to 6, and that leaves 2 problems. 1) My war Attacks are weaker due to no golems. 2) I have no elixer to do anything with. Literally, 1k elixer not enough to work with. Since I have no dark barracks to work with (well, I have minions and hogs) so I need more elixer to fund my attacks, extra pekka here, some Giants there, more WB and wizzies. Point is, elixer is hard to get for me. I'd heard since I started CoC last year that elixer was no problem. I have a problem. And I use BARCH. I have awesome farming ranges to go to (Silver II, Sub 200, Gold II, Crystal I) but still I have the same problem. After the update to upgrade walls w/ elixer came out, it stunk for people like me. Anyone else have this problem?

EDIT: People have misconceptions on my "poor upgrade planning", I.E. right before a war or when I only had enough to barely manage an upgrade. My clan was about to finish a war, I had a good loot bonus, and we were in the lead. I thought that I was getting a hefty loot bonus afterwards. Turns out, we lost by a star. Yay. So not as much loot. About the doing the upgrade before a war, my clan does wars 24/7 and farming at the same time. So it was a now or never thing on getting lava's, and I wanted them bad. Sorry for that confusion

I don't have any loot problems at all but I could understand how some people might because the moment I get enough extra elixir I dump it into my walls.

It's not an issue for BARCH, but I very much agree. I see a base with 400K gold and 400K elixir, but it's a full up Lego th10. I could spend 600K elixr on an army to two star it and take half the loot, so figure 200K/200K or 300K of both with bonus. I just lost 300K elixir. You could say I merely traded the 300K elixir for 300K gold, so in essence the entire raid was a break even, but now I can't build another army and while I'm waiting for more elixir from the pumps, I get raided for most of the gold....

So long story short .... 400K/400K Lego th10 ... next

Sounds like a few of the following happened to you:

• You used up your remaining elixir to upgrade your dark barracks
• You didn't farm enough resources to upgrade your dark barracks and field an army
• You upgraded your dark barracks just prior to or during a clan wars

To sum up this only really happens with lack of planning ahead. This could be easily mitigated by a few more barches prior to upgrading your dark barracks so that you ensure that you have enough elixir to either, barch again for more resources or have enough elixir to field two cw armies.

If you farmed enough to upgrade a Dark barracks to level 6 (3.5 million elixir), then how hard would it be to farm another 50K on top of that to barch a couple more times for your CW armies?

Bottom line is that serious raids and even clan wars are elixir sinks. The more you play the more you lose. So long as you keep your cups below 2600 or so, you can make BARCH work, but that is the only way I found to make any elixir.

If you can farm 3.5mil for the db upgrade, there is no issue.

It took about 2 hours of consecutive boosting/BARCH to achiev that goal. It was also a very good day and time for collector raids. It usually is a lot tougher.

Perhaps you need to learn how to do storage raids?

When I first started playing I thought collector raids were the way to go.
Now that I've moved up, I started finding fewer and fewer collector raids.

So I changed up my army.

I use a combination of Giants/archers/goblins/wallbreakers

And I target storages.

The reason is, I found I didn't have to look as hard for full storages as I did for full collectors, thus my time could be spent better.

And really, the cost of the army isn't drastically higher, either.

And if you're boosting, the giants time to cook is like nothing.

I keep reading that barch is the only way to make elixir like its a fact, but it isnt.

Barch is a good way to make elixir. I do however make even more elixir profit with loon/min or hog and or valk raids. There are other combos too that let you profit a lot of elixir.

Remember guys, there are plenty of troop mixes in clash, experiment. Bam/barch and other recycled troop mixes are not the only possibilities.
