Do Decorations have some utility? Or does it work only for decoration?
It's just decoration. I have all of em, but it takes FOREVER to rearrange your base. :p
No defensive perk whatsoever.
Just cool to show off. Especially the ancient skull and PEKKA statue

Not entirely true. They do serve a purpose and if arranged properly can funnel attacking troops into a tight bunch to maximize splash damage. I think they can also plug up a clan castle spawn point.
Well relatively true........ This guy sounds like he doesn't need to attempt decoration-funneling though. Decorations can still be spawned upon but the troops will walk around them. Similar to how a giant will walk around a collector. The cc thing though I've never heard ofQuote:

Its a pain to put them back whenever you change layout and the difference is marginal however.
The main use decor have is you cant spawn a cc on them. This can be useful but as for how useful im not sure but i did make my base with this in mind. Your cc goes on the rough grass and no where else!
