Air Skeletons have ruined my level 6 Balloon attack.

I spent money to buy gems to rush from Town hall 8 --> town hall 9 and upgrade Laboratory, then research balloons level 6, because I wanted to use them in clan wars. I used them successfully for about 5 wars and was doing well and having fun. I really like them, I don't want to just dragon spam every attack, it can get boring.

But now the Air Skeleton trap (when set to Air) ruins that. Balloons can't defend against Air. So even though I can destroy the entire base, those Air skeletons chase all of my balloons down and kill them all and ruin my attack.

I PROPOSE :

Level 7 Balloons - they come with a weak machine gun or weak bomb throw that can shoot at Air units. It is a weak attack, but when the balloons are concentrated together in a bunch, then their combined attacks are able to take down the Air skeletons.

I swear the skeleton traps were a silent nerf to balloonian. anything with a favorite target will suffer, but balloons can't even Attack the air ones XD

Maybe bring more minions with you, but I don't see a special Balloon lev 7 attachment coming :(

This ☝. If you still have gems, upgrade your minions to lvl5. Balloon is not like dragon who can stand alone, units with a preferred target must have support troops.

oh btw, the lv 7 loon might be able to 3 star max th 10 bases without heroes when used with Lavaloonion.. it won't happen except they decide to nerf lv 6 loon (and lv 7 will be for th 10 only :()

What you are proposing is a new troop. No troop changes its ai or anytbing when upgraded, only its base stats.
Ridiculous idea nonetheless, as others have said you need to bring minions.

You are wrong. How can few skellis with low dps ruin 20-32 loons ?

Skellies is a infact nerf to Pekka and Heros. Together with Heros weird AI, ground attacks are so unpredictable now.

100% Loon is and was NEVER a good strategy, although it can work some of the time.

Well use balloonion or lavaloonian as the minions will be able to deal with the air skeletons.Kinda surprising that the skeletons took all your loons down lol.Anyways just remember to bring some minions as they can come in handy.

Machine gun? ...horrible idea bro. Just bring some minions along SKELTONS aren't even that bad:rolleyes: It's the wiz towers and air bombs you gotta worry about since they got splash

I use Balloonion 90% of the time and have been pushing towards Master, I have came across many Skeleton Traps and they did not do much, IMO. My Minions took them down before they got anything useful done, and I have lvl 5 Balloons.

SO TRUE! I placed my hero's and 3 level 1 barbs came out of the CC. So I just laughed and kept going.. The barbs went for some of my other troops on the side of the map and somehow lured my hero's half war across the map! I don't even know how!

How about you suck it up and deal with it. The skeletons were pretty much made for situations like this that people only use loons! Too bad so sad. Start using minions or drags now. Thats why its called a strategy game, not a simple use only 1 troop and spam it all game.

Skeleton traps are meant to be a distraction, not actually traps that cause much damage. You must be doing something wrong - bring more minions maybe?

Level 6 balloons are strong enough.

Without cc, heroes or skel traps loon only raids work quite well sometimes, similar to hog raids.

thats why you dont use a single troop for raids , especially CW , you can use hound and balloons and minions , good variation

or you can use dragons instead of hound if you dont have them unlocked

have you tried luring cc troops and checking for traps before you raid ?

those are some factors affecting normal raids , dont propose an extra level with an extra feature just 'cause you failed to utilize the troop correctly

practice more with loons , and upgrade your troops to get them better/stronger and you'll see lv7 balloons arent needed

Bases that have a lurable cc and queen on the edge have the same effect. Which makes the OP's concerns of the skel trap ruining loon raids quite valid. Also the queen can get killed by raged loon splash anyway, and if you discount upgrading queen, low level queen and sleeping queen there are actually quite a lot of them.
