CW Lava-Golem-Loon questions

ok so ive never really been great with gowipe, and ive always been more of an air guy anyways. ive watched a few lava golem loon raids amd thought i had a decent strategy so i tried it and failed pretty miserably. i was wondering if someone could give me pointers or critiques on the execution.

heres the base along with my army (CC was 6 loons)

initially i droped a hound in the NE near that AT and a balloon behind aimed at the AT. as the hound moved in to the NE Air Defense i dropped 1 loon on the under leveled AT, and 3 on the cannon with a rage spell to get the AD down. it successfully took out all air aimed defenses in the quarter as well as lured the CC which was a dragon (a pain to take out with this army maybe?)

my next step was to drop a hound near the far south AT with a balloon behind it, then as the hound moved toward that SE Air Defense i dropped 1 loon on either of the SE cannons and 3 on the AT, with a rage to get the loons to the AD. at this point my raid came apart i think, the hound droppednincredibly quick and i was unsuccessful at destroying the AD, i only had like 10% health when the last of the loons died. (maybe loon deployment was too slow? not enough loons?)

at this point the drag was heading to my southern deployment area so i dropped an archer at the bottom. once it killed the archer i used 2 wizards and all but 1 of my barbarians to kill the drag.

next i went to the northwest and dropped a golem, my heros, and 2 wallbreakers to get into the AD and AQ. unfortunately 1 of my wallbreakers got shot down and i failed to destroy yet another Air Defense. i did kill the Archer Queen and a couple defenses, but my L21 heros died shortly before the AD did. (i know WB died hurt, but maybe my heros are too low level? both are L21?)

at this point i kind of knew i wasnt going to 2 star, let alone 3 star. i deployed my last 10 or so balloons along with my final hound, and used the rage and 2 freeze in the southwest. i managed to take down the defenses in the SW corner and got to the core. i deployed my minions around the base to hit free buildings and soon ran out of time with minions still hitting free buildings but alas i failed. i felt like i was very low on time wheni deployed the last set of loons and the last hound, maybe i was working too slow? maybe i just need more practice? idk. anyone that can give me pointers on the strategy i'd appreciate it.

The unspoken truth is that the people using this comp three starring max bases on their first try have been practicing their attack for the last 8 hrs.

Only certain bases can be 3 starred with this strategy... this base doesn't look great for it.

The usual attack would be to come in with the golem, bk, and aq FIRST... to take out the AQ, cc, and 1-2 air defense (You may need higher level heroes to attack almost maxed TH10s). Then you send in all your air. It is not optimal to use a hound and a few balloons to take out an air d... going in all together is better.

seeing as i wont be doing that kind of practice, and i'd like a good shot at 2 stars vs bases of that caliber, with the posibility of 3 from time to time is there much hope with a hybrid air army like this? i kind of stink it up with gowipe

thanks for the tip, i had joined Ice Ice Baby and watched a few 3 star war raid replays and all of them used a hound and a few loons per defense so its how i tried it. i havent seen any good raids where the whole army was deployed together. any chance you could aim me in the right direction?

#3 is a good example. They have a lot of other air attacks.

I can testify for my clannies who practice with quad lava, that you dont need to c h eat. They use quad lava in regular raid and 3 star max bases in champ. And thus getting experience with it before war. If a person have a good grasp of air raid, they can get 2 star on their first try with it, be it cw or regular raid. Notice i said good grasp in air raid, which seems like what the op is lacking. 5 people in my clan tried quad lava and got 2 star on all their first try in regular raid, before even using heroes.

edit: oopps, i guys op said he was an air guy and still struggle with lavas. Try quad lavas op, u got too much distracting troop with u. My clannies use lava loon minions, and heroes. Thats it.

I think you mixed two combos together so your troop count is actually weak. I have used lava and loons 4 times in war now with all raids being 3 stars.

there is two approaches. first either use two lava n golem, or use three lava and no golem.. I use the first combo

my combo is 2 lava hounds, 31 loons (including 7 in cc), 10 minions 3 barbs 3 archers 2 wbs and bk38 aq40

1st you lure cc with loons by killing archer tower at 6 O'clock, use barb n archers to group cc, then use one loon to kill cc (just read that defender had a dragon in cc.. well in that case u need to get the dragon near the defender aq and try to use aq to kill it)
then you go from aq side to kill aq and ad using golem followed by wbs then heroes.


now for this raid to work u need to direct your loons towards the infernos to do that you need to kill archer towers at 3 and 9 and the mortars next to it by sending three loons each. then you deploy all your loons except cc in a V shape at the bottom followed by lava hounds directed at bottom two Air defenses. as your loons aproach the air defenses you deploy rage each side to cove ad xbow and inferno and freeze inferno xbow and what ever in that gap next to infernos


now last thing will be deploying your cc, you do that to kill last air defense that is done when the lava hounds do towards last AD you drop a rage then cc... That should give u three stars

EDIT: sorry, I was writing this reply in a rush earlier. I really think most lava hound combos require maxed level heroes to work.. lvl20 aq is just not enough.. because if you get a dragon in cc then you will not have troops to kill it and you need to rely on your archer queen. also Your barb king need to take alot of damage and tank hits for the queen as golem won't stay live for long

If enemy cc is very costly to lure and has a dragon, three stars will not be possible.
