Army that I use,
Dragoon, need level 5 loon
I don't have golem and level 5 giants are next to worthless in war
2-3 giant 5
2 pekka 1
1 pekka 3 in cc
4-6 wb (mine are still 4)
few barbs for barbking rage, cc lure
rest wiz 5, 2 rage 1 heal or 3 rage
For gowipe or WiPe, the cc lure is a must. IF it is known dragon, 20 archers will do it but thats 5 less wiz so up to u.
Lure cc, drag to undefended are on side you will attack from, use 1 giant to distract, circle kill with wiz. now start the attack, drop giant to distract defense, drop wb, use wiz/arch clear side building, drop pekka, rest of wb (time splash) once into base, drop cc pekka drop wiz (keep 2) and use spells as needed. drop last 2 wiz for cleanup.
If base is an open design, I will use 4 valks (8 less wiz) as they are great in crowded open cores and walk paths great when pekka is tanking for them.
On weaker early th8, giant wiz is great too. Wiz tower 6, canon 10 and mortar 6 shred giant5.
Hogs 4 are still viable and we successfully 3 star max th8 routinely if the layout it right, double giant bombs turn hogs into bacon. Hogs and valks are good combo too.
Again, it really depends on the base.
