Spent maybe $250 between two accounts, but nothing since around march 2014, since farming is no longer viable. They may well be making more money now from the people who buy resources but they make less from farmers who would just boost barracks and spells. Guess they still must be doing better overall otherwise farming would still be a thing.
$0.00 Seems like a huuuge waste of money, seeing as its a free game for your phone or whatever you play it on lol. Paying for gems kinda negates the fact that it was free. I wouldn't even buy any to purchase a builder.

I currently float around 900-600 gems with barrack boosts/ collecting gem boxes and plants. So my last purchase was kinda pointless, but I now I have a nice little pile for when I need it.
Ithe only time i used gems were for barracks, king/queen healing times, and spells. And bought the a builder and the king and last 10% DE for queen.

But not one console has ever stated to be free, then turned out not to be.. Because, well.. How would that even work? Lol so again, your post is invalid. If you want to spend money on clash, all the power to you. I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. I just wouldn't spend money on it personally.
Actually, I've been enjoying this game for 2 years now, so I guess it's about time I show my appreciation and pull my own weight by buying some gems. Time to go buy a $25 Google+ card...
