I'd definitely recommend an apple device. I have a few iPads, and an android phone and tablet. One thing you'll experience on android that you won't on apple is lag and viruses. Apple is much more simple and fun. Android is more customizable (the reason for androids being so slow and prone to catch a virus) and complicated. In the end it's your choice though.
android is an operating system...apple is a company. I think you were asking if IOS was better than android?
Rarely. In fact, CoC lags my others apps more. ;)
I try to keep my iPod at optimum performance levels. Closed all other apps, and have ample memory space. I don't think this makes a difference, but I even have the music and FX turned off (mostly because they're annoying).
The only occasional problem is that it has a fit every so often and lags and crashes CoC constantly. But this doesn't happen very often, and rebooting the device usually solves the problem.
The cheapest brand new android smartphone is available for less than 100 dollars and can run CoC pretty well.
I like IPad's fluid interface, no lagging when switching between menus / apps and it's a pleasure to use. But it terms of customization, raw processor power, variety of devices, price range, camera quality (try comparing the top end ones), SD card support, multi-sim support etc Android wins.
I would like a cheaper TAB that runs decently and on which I can do all my work then an expensive one which, while awesome to use in terms of performance and fluidity, offers very less value for money.
