I've used both and prefer my Android because it doesn't lag nearly as much and responds faster to inputs. The WiFi in my Android device is also better because it acquires and holds WiFi signals that my iPhone doesn't even know is there. I also like the fact that I can expand the memory to what ever I want by simply swapping out SD cards. I can have an SD card filled with music, a different one with videos, and another with whatever. I currently have 1 64g and 2 32g cards that cost me less than the price difference between a 16g iPad and a 32g iPad. As far as apps are concerned, I haven't found an app that I wanted for iOS that I couldn't find for Android. I have a Galaxy Note 8 so I have the option of using a stylus for poking at things or writing quick notes (I write faster than I can type on a touch screen), or draw sketches (beats drawing on a napkin). Not to say that Apple is bad, it isn't, but my analogy is that with Apple, you're living in a really big house with all the best stuff like big screen TV, Playstation, Xbox, microwave oven, cappuccino maker, hot tub, etc., but there are no windows, no doors...you're basically stuck with whatever is in the house. As nice as everything is, you're still stuck with whatever the landlord decides to give you. With Android on the other hand, you get all of that plus the option to go your own path, to find your own stuff, bring it back to the house, then store it away in a Tardis with unlimited storage capacity and retrieve it at anytime.
