Hog rider strategy for town hall 9: combo with witches

Maybe all of us knew about Hog Rider. After the new update (unlurable heroes, Giant Bomb), we think Supercell killed hogs. But no, we still have chances for them.
Here are the combo of hog riders, witches, wizards, which can destroy almost of th9s, enjoy it now!!!

How to combo:
- Combo 1: 29 hogs,3 witches, 3 wizards, 1 giant, 4 wall breakers, 7 archers, 2 barbs, 3 healing, 1 rage
- Combo 2: 29 hogs,3 witches, 3 wizards, 1 giant, 4 wall breakers, 7 archers, 2 barbs, 4 healing,
- CC troops: all hogs

So long as there are no internal Double Giant Bombs, Hogs is still one of the most reliable TH9 3* strat.

Yup, hard for hogs with double giant bombs, but we always have other ways to deal with it :)

Yes! I am pretty sure you are not short of ideas haha! I am a strong advocate of having at least 2 3* strategies for anyone in Clan Wars. As soon as our TH8s maxed Dragon Rage (for TH8) they move onto getting Hog4 in preparation for TH9. Having both ground and air 3* capability is invaluable to small to medium clans as there are fewer targets to pick from.

22-2-1. Still a relatively new clan warring once a week. We lost a couple of times early on when we were still finding our feet. Happy to report the War Log page is all green at the moment. :)

My th9 base just defense well on air troops & hogs, got 2 stars from gowiwipe. Sometime, it can defense attacks from th10 with 5 spells. Is it okay?

Depends on Base design, it will not work all the time, even without double Giant bombs in the middle.
Upgraded skeleton traps just makes it more harder.
But in mid lvl Clan War, Hog still rule, and most clans use it in last-ditch effort to get 3 stars to win

Yup, strongly agree with u, no perfect tactic, no perfect base, and it's made a great for us, all things balance :)

Yea, formed this clan back in June? With only a handful of players from our former clan; 2 days after I became TH9. As a new clan it took a while just to recruit to 10 for war haha! Venturing into global was not fun...

Our first loss was against a Chinese clan with a well developed TH10. Base for base we had no chance. We were all early 9s to 6s at the time... I do not record they had anything lower than TH8. Not one is rushed. That war I learnt the hour of starting war does matter. Starting on social hours meaning more chance of a equal match, as more clans are searching for war at the same time. Also that TH7 lvl2 Dragons minimum to join war.

Our 2nd loss was caused by expanding too rapidly. We had a good win streak and gone from 10v to 20v too quickly. Our 'veterans' 3* their top end, ironically however the surge of newbies meant we missed a lot of easy easy stars at the bottom end. So we drop a lot of bad players and kept prospect numbers low at any given time. Only recruit when our current batch of prospects graduate.

The draw was a dead heat. Equal match. We missed a few 3rd stars that could've gone either way and so did they. If only there is a rematch button in the case of a draw haha!

nice attacks there m8 but i would consider taking my own hogs rather from cc and asking 2 witches 1 mage 2 barbs into my cc! just feeling safer!!!btw good attacks there and strategies! 5/5!

Respect the Hog is all i can say. Great video on the basics of how to use Hogs! My hogs are lvl 4, hopefully lvl 5 soon and then I should be wrecking bases :o

Im in a war right now and im attacking a max defense th9, do you think lvl 4 hogs are good enough to get at least a two star? (There is no room for double giant bombs in his base and his cc is lurable)

Yeah, 2-star is easy with this combo. Your hogs will destroy at least 50-60% defenses, then your witches, heroes will destroy th & at least 50% of this base :)
