Level 2 golems are great and you want to be good at gowipe at TH8. Sure it's a lot of DE, but you're shooting yourself in the foot leaving those behind. They're pretty darn awesome IMO and, to that point, I think govape is a stronger combo than gowipe. I have been using that combo for the past few wars with level 2 valks and love it.

I hate hogs and hardly ever use minions but I don't plan on moving up to TH9 before they are fully upgraded. A "maxed" base is not maxed unless EVERYTHING is MAXED. Went a little excessive on the formatting there but I think you get my point.

Yeah, I'm gonna be upgrading them (Golems/Valks) sooner or later anyway so might as well while I have tons of time while upgrading my walls to skulls. As far as I know, Golems lvl 2 HP goes up by 500 (no chump change) so it'll definitely help out in GoWiPe. LOL I get your point, I'm gonna end up doing the same thing...upgrade EVERYTHING before moving to TH9. Thanks for your opinion! I really appreciate it! :D

I'm a newish TH8. I have a question, when should I start griding out the skull walls? I want to get as much done in the lab without wasting too much builder time. I could do:

Farm skulls before buildings max and go to TH9 not wasting builder time
Farm skulls after buildings max and go to TH9 with most of the upgrades done

Which one and why?

The correct answer is do it whenever you can. When I started I farmed out and did most of the necessary elixir upgrades first (pekkas and drags included). That left that resource available to use towards walls in between my building upgrades. I don't have my numbers from when I started TH8 but, if I remember right or someone can correct me, there is 120 days of lab upgrades at TH8? 225/120 = 2 skulls per day (assuming you already have full level 7 already). Maybe 10 a week, unrealistically. I mean grinding out the DE my King and Lab was horrendous. I saved most of my DE lab upgrades for last and used the gold and elixir to farm out the walls as there is a considerable amount of extra days for total lab upgrades over total building upgrades (I think around 30-40). That'll give you some time to catch up if you fell behind on any walls per day.

It comes down to how much you want grind. I think the benefit of having full skulls is worth it. Plus that's 112,500,000 gold/elixir less you have to worry about at TH9. :D

I am a maxed TH7 w/o 2 collectors of each level 8 (lazy) and hogs are level 1.Even my Burger King is upgrading to level 5 :D

lv 2 dark elixir drill to 3
lvl 2 dark elixir strorage to 4
2 lv 2 giant bomb to 3
4 lv 4 bomb to 5
3 lv 2 air bomb to 3 and then th 9

I was a premmie th8, i basically skipped th7. So it feels like i have been on th8 for eternity.

I mainly attack using BAM its my strategy for getting storages but also allows you to get collector bases. Current easily sitting in crystal 3, thinking about pushing up to see where i can get to before th9

My collectors and mines will be maxed in the next week, so then i'm going to th9. Not going to max the king or research valks or golems, or finish lvl8 walls. That queen is call me and so are the xbows.
