Whenever you have such problems, you have to delete and reinstall the game. Your account will be saved at your device, so even when you delete it and reinstall it months later; your account would be safe and at yours. :)

I have seen from the reviews, there are apparantly quite a few users who are unable to log in or even open the game after the red update. So, imo, don't update until the bug is fixed!
I ended up having a problem with In App Purchases. First I got an error message but then I had no option to buy gems at all plz help
is anyone having problems with opening your clash of clans after updating your clash of clans to the red update?? because when i updated my clash. My app clash of clans wont start up i just open it and just turns back off again...

I have the same problem everyone else seems to be having. I updated the game, tried restarting, uninstalling, you name it, all to no avail.
Please fix this, it is not only affecting our ability to play the game/talk with fellow clan members, but is preventing a large portion of users from contributing to this campaign. I'm sure the bug isn't anything major, but I know for certain that the game is not opening, it immediately crashes...
There is no loading screen, the app just closes. Any assistance will be useful, please if there is a way to fix this let us know or introduce a new update addressing the crashes. How long would something of this nature take? This is extremely frustrating, being a paying customer who takes this game somewhat seriously.
Please assist ASAP SuperCell.

My game doesn't crash since Red update..it loads twice :confused:
I get a message saying downloading content, midway through message disappears, and game reloads again..
Is this happening to anyone else?

Hm that is strange. I am running on 4.3 still (which is compatible) I am just unable to update my iPad past this since I have no computer which can handle the space (unless I erase everything which I am not doing).
I just hope that SuperCell sees this at some point and someone actually responds so that other people having this problem can finally play. It is quite annoying...

This being stuck in a "content update" loop is not new and apparently happens from time to time after updates but eventually goes away. The only thing that seems to do the trick is to connect to a different internet network (public wi-fi for instance) or even 3G if you have the chance? Have you tried this?
I'm still having the same problem. It's not fixed yet. Tried many times reloading and still no avail. Good thing I'm able to inform my clan.
Btw, I'm running on ios 4.3 too. Will update once fixed hopefully. Well, lets hope SC sees our message and resolve it asap.
Just a quick note, im running on ios 4.3. Wondering other gamers' version is it similiar?

With this bug not being fixed an abundance of people that is having this problem will have lots of problems. i dont know if supercell is even gonna read this but at least its worth a shot. Thts what it says on the app store it says this Join the fight and get the RED to decorate your town hall until december 8th... and so on soo thats why i think it will end on december 8.

When I try to open my clash of clans on my galaxy S3 4.4.2 it wont go past the loading screen and wont load.... I guess im done..... :(

Hey, I'm sorry to know about this but unfortunately we are now unable to support devices that run on iOS 4.3 or lower. Performance-wise we can't really guarantee the stability of the game neither the perfect quality of the graphics, so we advise players to update to iOS 5 if that's possible. Apologies for this inconvenience but I doubt this change is going to be reverted
Does that mean its the end for iOS 4.3 n below after this update or its just meant for Red update?
Doesnt sound good. Then its like stupid to update the red version as its not forced. Thought of just supporting the cause!!!

Wait a minute. This doesn't make sense or add up.
1: Why was I able to update in the first place when I'm currently running on iOS 4.3?
2: The language used sounds far from professional. That excuse doesn't sound legitimate "we can't guarantee the stability of the game"? Really? That sounds extremely bogus, because I know that they definitely can; having experience with App Dev myself. So the graphic textures are of a lower quality. That's reason for you to cut off all users? Come on!
3: As I cannot update my iPad past 4.3, and according to what has been posted I will be unable to continue playing this game. Does that mean I will get reimbursed for the money I apparently wasted on this game? It clearly shows 4.3+ as the required OS.

I sympathise with your predicament especially with you being the leader of a clan. First thing first, I am still unable to log in after the update and quite a number of other players are having the same problem. I reckon, SC will not be fixing it soon! Probably like what xybertron quoted earlier in the thread, we will need to wait until the end of the red period which is on 7th December!!!
As an alternate solution, I informed my co-leader/leader of my clan of my issue and she offered to help me to log on and collect resources and raid for me. Thus, at least my village losses will be limited and I will be upgrading my heroes too during this down time period.

So, hope you could get someone you trust and they will be able to access your village and assist you until the new update is out (which I think is the most likely solution!).

I've been having the same problem with crashing. I hope my clan doest kick me out because of this, no matter what rank you are if you don't participate in the war every sunday then you'll be kicked out of the clan.

My game is down since I posted this thread. Good thing, I managed to inform my leader about my problem and now she is collecting loot for my village. Maybe you guys, as an alternative solution, need to get someone you trust to access your village and minimise the resources loss, ie collecting it periodically.
Back to the problem, as mentioned earlier in the thread, xybertron mentioned that the red update will be ending on 7th December and hope that SC will come out with a new update. And then we will be able to get back on (worst case scenario) but it is very likely. So we will be offline for a long long time :mad:
I have emailed SC but still no reply. Hope SC staffs will do something to help all of us out who are stuck with the red crashed update!

Right after i updated my game it stopped working on my ipad, i click on the app and it opens and then immidiatly shuts back down after a few seconds. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP i got wars to attend too!

My problem is not the same but after the red update, every time I open coc it shows downloading content for a mili second and restarts and the game works normally,earlier it used to download content only once but now it happens everything I open it up.

Thanks for coming out and sharing out your problems on the thread. It seems that quite a number of players are facing the same predicament and we are not able to log on to our game after the red update! And I know a lot of us will be so frustrated where our village will be gleefully targeted by all players (ie dead base!).
Anyway, back to the point, SC did not mention or reply to our problems. What I hope is that at least they can inform us, probably you all need to wait until the next update release or patch up. I don't think it is that hard to do.
We are still hanging out and have tried out various methods in trying to rectify the problem of logging on to the game yet to no avail.
As of now...no news whatever and keeping our fingers crossed that SC will at least have the courtesy to reply to us on our problem.

Hey oddysey I can't log on now for 3 days and waiting, the worst part is I have an upgrade done tonight and that's the one that will get me to lvl 100 :( players forsure having a field day on my base
I'm afraid that on 7th december update they will write "requires iOS 5.1 or 7.1"
Angry birds did the same, one update had the compatibility with iOS 4.3 but didn't work for weeks and then in the next update "requires 5.1+" :(:(

No news from SC at the moment. Seems like we could be in for a long long wait if at all we are able to log back on to our village.
Don't know what to say at the moment, but just keep updating and checking out on the progress of mates having the same problem. Maybe we can send more emails to SC to assist us on solving the problem or at least have an answer for us.

Its been so many days and when my friend showed me my map as we are in same clan, it hurts to see my village being torn down. Please fix the problems. I had been playing for so long and it has become part of my daily routine. Hope you guys can feel our agony. Thanks.

Updates, nothing is working at the moment. No news or update from SC at all. Cross our fingers another week to go when the update is in.
Clashers are having a field day on our villages. Wonder if this is how SC is trying to improve loot or dead bases on the game! Lol! I reckon quite a lot of players are not getting good loot. But with our dead bases now, it will be good addition on the loot count!
Hoping things will be coming good soon...cheers and keep posting if you have the same problem until it is resolved.

The problem is that while updating and improving the game, eventually your iOS will be too outdated to run the more advanced, newer clash of clans. I hope that they keep compatibility for iOS 4.1, as when I had the old iPad it was running clash (I gave it away a few years ago).
The "funny" thing is that in one year i've never had a problem or a crash. Everything worked perfectly until the red update!
So iOS 4.3 works fine without any kind of bug.
The Red update suppose to help others but at our expense of our game. Supercell not doing anything, no one do anything. What is happening? These kind of things never happen to supercell before. Fixing problems always their priority to ensure everyone enjoy the game. Really puzzled this time.

Well,, i believe the problem was not about the low iOS (4.3).. My two friends,, used iPhone 4S (iOS 7) and iPad mini latest iOS,, did have the same problem.. Can't log in,, always downloading content..
Supercell have to do something regarding this issues.. Many iOS users are so down right now..

Most of the players here have tried out all the methods mentioned before. Like on the solutions mentioned by SC. So, it's not like we are keeping this post when we have not tried the various methods to solve the problem.
You can refer to earlier posts to check it out. We are just waiting for an update or statement from SC...or update whatsoever to patch up the bugs for the red update.

I already posted this before but Clash is currently compatible with iOS 4.3 or later. We did not do anything in the (red) update to drop the lower versions but it's possible that with time iOS 4.1 etc will stop running the game or it will feel very clunky, which is only natural since the game has changed and grown a lot since the time it was released (we added more troops, buildings, introduced clan wars and so forth). I know many of you are waiting for the the red update to be over to see if everything goes back to what it was but honestly I cannot promise this.
I would advise you to follow these steps, if you haven't yet:
- delete unnecessary apps and big files
- close all the apps running in the background
- restart the device
- make sure your network has a strong and stable signal
- try a different network (different wifi, 3g etc)
- reinstalling the app does not cause much of a difference usually but if you're going to try this step, make sure your village is linked to Game Center
I had tried all methods including what you had mentioned. In fact, I try everyday in hoping that SC has resolve the problems. But still, no progress. I realized that people who update on own accord in App store faced this problem. My friend who do not update is ok with his account. Hope this information help in resolving the issue. The RED update was compatible with iOS 4.3 or later,, but why crashed??..
You said that Supercell did not do anything about this update to drop the lower versions,, but why crashed??..
And,, as far as I know till now,, many users who are using iOS higher than 4.3,, got crashed too because of this update..
And I've tried everything you had mention above,, nothing works.. :(

Really appreciate your reply on our thread as it has been a long long wait for so many of the players. I believe most of the players have tried the methods you mentioned and still failed to log on after the red update.
So we are still waiting for the update from SC on the end of red.

Finally we have some feedback from SC. To cut it short, summary as below:
1) iOS 4.3 players are safe at the moment and if you refer to Anoushka's reply iOS 4.1 will be at risk (gotta update at some point or later)
2) same methods to solve the red update crash proposed by SC. Well, we have done that. haven't we?? :p So, I suppose that we are all still stuck for the time being until the red update ends!
Hang on tight for another week then...:mad: no choice right?

Either case, we are still trying to see if there's something that could be causing this all of a sudden, and if we find the root of the problem we'll do our best to address it asap. I'm sorry that I cannot offer a solution right away other than the troubleshooting steps above, please give those a try

it finally happened to me. i click to open it and it just closes right back up.
i finally got my dark elixer, dragon, and almost th8. do you mean that was all for nothing?
just because to support the cause? i think coc should just forget about the seasonal updates and just have a plain loading screen and thats it.
i dont know if im gonna try to restart or just give up on it . . .

Sorry to hear that rocks! But as Cube pointed out, we (a lot of players) have been stuck on this situation of not being able to log on much earlier. Worst still, some are leaders of a clan (can you imagine that?!)
So, as per SC staff's update, guess we need to hang on until the next date, probably due 7th or 8th December hopefully. And, like Cube mentioned, try not to update unless it's a force update in future!

Hi guys! i currently experiencing the same problem as you all guys having.
I'm stuck in "downloading content" i tried to delete and re-install the app several times i even restore my ipod
then suddenly the game start up and my village is there! Thank god! what i did was i accidentally left my ipod in my bed while the game was loading to "downloading content" when i came back i saw countless attacks to my village! so... i was thinking the game will eventually loads up just be patient. i hope this experience of mine will help you guys!
