The question is, as a matter of fact, does the average forumer care about yet another person finishing legos? In my view they do not. There’s nothing elitist about holding this view. You mentioned the 4 page thread being evidence that people do care. A few throw away comments on a forum with this many members is actually more supportive of the position that, on the whole, they aren’t really that interested.
Besides you haven’t answered my question, Deep down do you really believe that the average forumer cares about you finishing legos? Honestly? On the whole, a group that don't know you, really cares about legos at a time when people have had fully maxed bases for months? Legos simply aren't that news worthy anymore.
So another question – where does it end? Should everyone that achieves anything make a thread? I recently finished my def towers. Is that thread worthy? How about my big bombs? I finished those yesterday. Is that thread worthy? I would say no. The forum would be an awful place if every other thread in general was about each other’s minor achievements. From my perspective, my achievements are personal, they are not record breaking on any scale and I don’t have a high enough opinion of myself to think my achievements are worth a thread. But according to you I have an elitist attitude. You misjudge me badly.
You can’t compare a TH7 De farming guide with an “I finished legos” thread. One is very clearly offering something of value to the community, the other is just a chasing recognition and self gratification. Besides as a TH9, you can offer something to such a guide. “this worked for me” or “I found xyz more efficient” are all worthwhile contributions. You can of course get threads that do both, “I finished legos and this is how I did it” including a comprehensive guide on farming range, troop combo, time spent, this is what I learnt etc. That is of much more value, because it is less about the thread owner and more about the community. I've seen a lot of threads more about the owner than the community recently.
