It's been posted in the announcements now (sorry for the delay!) but I'm going to leave this here too. Today we introduced a non-forced update in the AppStore since we are partnering in the
(RED) campaign against AIDS.
iOS players who update their Clash application will not only get a handsome redhead barbarian icon, but will find that the Pile of 500 Gems is now marked in red and this means that the proceeds (until December 8th, when the campaign is over) will be donated to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
You can find out more about this cause by visiting
www.red.org and
www.facebook.com/joinred
Players who purchase the
(RED) Pile of Gems will also be given the choice of getting a decorative red shield added to their Town Hall. Please keep in mind that the badge is temporary and will be removed once the campaign is over.
Why is the update non-forced? We could have reached a bigger audience by making it mandatory indeed but since the update is not introducing new in-game content and the participation in this cause is completely voluntary, we feel that making it non-forced is the best way to go.
Why the smallest package and not a bigger one? We want to give players the option to participate in this cause too and we can't expect everyone to purchase a higher sum of gems, so this is the budget-friendly option in case you'd like to make your contribution.
