If you are losing moderate amounts of rss without getting a shield then I wouldn't recommend going to sub 200. You'll end up losing it at a faster rate down here. You are better off in the 1100-1200 range.
I am recommending the 1350 trophy range, plenty of easy loot.
If your town hall 8 has weak defenses, then after farming sub 200, win about 3 raids. That will put you around 250 trophies and out range of being farmed by people like me. However, sometimes going back down i will find you by sheer luck, and probably take all of gold, but try it out and see how it works.
