I agree, it's a good tip.

Good point on case 2, I'd agree with you there...
On case 3, though, no, I'd have to disagree. You would find loot in both the collectors and tanks... unless they drained their tanks sufficiently before vacation, which isn't likely (depends on trophy range though)... but for HB (who I recall being in Purple/Crystal), most villages are already fairly maxed, in particular Elixir upgrades, so you can't dump a few million in Elixir from your tanks. So, I tend to look at Elixir tanks predominantly rather than Trophy Badges or sleeping builder huts, when farming Crystal land.
And in the case of this pic, as just one example, I had raided 6 of the 8 tanks (see remaining two in pic), and yes, the loot was predominantly in the tanks (not collectors), and yes, this was days and days after the reset... Either lazy attacker, or on vacation.

Ah, I see Thomasz mentioned it but didn't trust it enough. I will give him credit for mentioning it.
Here are his points which I will speak to:
"Some people don't attack that much" - Irrelevant because if they aren't attacking then the gold/elixir is building up in the collectors. Go for the collectors as they haven't moved them over yet.
"At the beginning of a season a lot of players don't have this" - True, not everybody logs on the moment the cycle resets, but if you wait 12 hours to a day you can feed on those who haven't.
"If you are at a low trophy level then nobody has a shield" - Dropping trophies to that level isn't necessary to feed on the people without shields.
Where I find this method helping me the most is that it allows me to cycle through bases faster without evaluating how I'm going to attack their base. If I see collectors in an easy to nab area and they have no shield, I'm going to attack. If I see storages in an easy to nab area and they do have a shield then I'm going to attack. Once I chose to attack I will move to the next part of my algorithm on whether or not their defenses can withstand my barrage of troops.
