Okay, hello there randoms :rolleyes:

Me and TheJ, maybe even some other people will help you out and give you advice on what to improve on your base! also what to work on

So it goes like this, post your base here, is it a farming, hybrid, or trophy base? make sure to tell us that, then we can give you guys advice and stuff :)

We Cant review you if you don't post a picture of your base!

Cant wait to see how this works out!

Thanks for the tips and I agree with all that, but the improper junctions. Could you point those out? Tell then here's it with the changes. The core is what I like best about this design.

Well I think this is the best I can do. Not sure how to fix the other two Improper Junctions, inside the base. Its hard to see the traps at the top. Looking forward to getting more loot to get a strong attacker to test this version.

thanx for the advice.. the base is not tested yet.. made it a couple of hours back..waiting for an attack to happen.
If it gets hammered then will go back to a farming base. :)

I consider my base building to be superior to most, because my first trophy base in weeks and carried me into Gold. But meh could also use some advice.

-Nice splash coverage
-Walls mostly staggered

-Heroes in core
-CC centralized, and by the looks it it may be umlurable

Cons:
-Trap placement could be better
-Core should have more important structures
-Poor air coverage
-Outside buildings should be more spread

Improvement:
-Swap Air defense with archer tower above
-Possibly move all four mortars on each corner of the core, if you want
-Evenly distribute outside buildings to force enemy back
-Place traps where troops will hit them

Overall with some changes I think this would be a good design. Nice work

I'll add to Shad for a warm-up. Like I need it anyways...

Pros:
- Spread out storages
- Well triangulated mortars
- Optimal AD positions
- Teslas guarding southern storages
- Northern and southern X-junction buffered and protected

Cons and Fixes:
- Off centered CC- the Clan Castle is the most important defensive structure in the game and troops are best executed when centralized to provide support at all sides
- Get rid of X-Junctions (walls that interconnect to form an 'X' shape) and stagger them by two- WB splash damage means targeting X-junctions will be able to open up to four compartments at once
- Place spring traps inside walls so they can not be tested by a single Giant
- Giant bombs could be placed elsewhere but it is actually okay where it is atm
- WT are not in range of any storages, you need them to get rid of Tier 1 troops
- TH outside is most optimal as by winning defenses you are counter-productive atracting multiple attacks on your base, losing more resources than a single free snipe

Overall, if you manage to fix the above issues you should have a decent base in your hands :) Good luck!

Can you review this please? Long story short, it's a spinoff of Maynard's Tesla Triumphant base, except with four mortars, and changed funneling and teslas. The main thing lacking in tesla triumphant in my opinion was the effective use of traps and spaces inside the base where they could be put, and so I tried to change that. I've tried unsuccessfully to incorporate the GB's, currently was my attempt at bringing troops into the GB, as well as acting as a WB cushion, which is still experimental. I thought the initial base's funneling was to long, and any experienced player would just bust it open with WB's anyway. I took the teslas out in an attempt to bring it a tile closer to the gold storage and elixir storage, so that it might be triggered by a barb or something easier so that the tesla could then proceed to zap archers and stuff.

Overall, I've just tried to improve upon the original base, make it fitting to my style. Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! I've used it since I got to TH 9, about a month, literally no real attacks besides one hog revenge, which failed utterly, getting 34% and one elixir storage (I interchange between the gold and elixir storages a lot, lix was on outer), which I was actually quite happy about, the guys' troops were all maxed for TH 9. Wow, nice base! You certainly know your stuff here :) You've pretty much nailed everything. Only thing I would be picky about are the Air Bombs- are you trying to protect them from minion swarms, balloons or hounds?

Against minions, AB are best placed surrounding storages and within the second layer as minions tend to clump around maximizing the amount taken down.

Against balloons I would try to clump them in groups of two for maximum splash damage, maybe not far from a WT to deal final blows.

Against hounds, there isn't much that I know of (seeing I'm a TH8 :p) but I guess you could have a SAM+2 AB combo to weaken it.

Anyway, I'm just trying to find things to say, awesome base though :)

Same for the walls i want them to be maxed, lv10, before i go to TH10.
Some other details;
- I'm farming here in C2 for dark elixer.
- The last attacks on my base were 8/10 TH snipers. The other 2 tried, but failed with giants-wizard, to reach my core(43% no star & 33% no star).

I love the thread, anyways, I only have ~ 1.5 - 2 months playing CoC so I'm pretty much a noob. I just got to TH7 like a week ago or so and I would like to move on in the next couple of weeks.

Farming Base: Just a TH6 "Clockwork" design from this thread (which I personally think, after trying a lot of layouts from forums and youtube, are the best designs for TH5/TH6 out there) with more traps/defenses and walls.

Trophy Base: Pretty much this layout with a small variation. I haven't get attacked at war yet so I'm not quite sure how the storage's are going to work with the funneling or not.

-Good splash coverage
-Excellent splash coverage
-Each pair of storages is separated from the others
-Highly compartmentilised
-Double giants to deal with hogs/anti-hog

Cons:
-Walls could be staggered better, but I don't think you can do anything about that...
-X Bows not in core
-Air mines and seeking air mines should be placed better

Improvements:
–This is just personal preference, but swap the mortars with wizard towers. This gives even better range and allows you to take advantage of the sheer power of the mortar
-Swap X-Bows with air defenses in the core, X Bows should always always be in the core...
-Air mines should be placed where they cover the gold storages, so next to the second layer air defense and second layer X-Bow. Your seeking mines should be in front of/covering the air defense to deal with giant healer attacks

Pros:
-Centralized CC
-Good splash coverage
-Good use of funneling and trap placement


Cons:
-Storages are in one large compartment
-Easily barchable, even by a TH7
-DE not protected
-Weak to Giant/Healer


Improvements:
-Separate the compartment by walls
-Move the dark elixir in somewhere safe


TROPHY:


Pros:
-Good splash coverage
-Good air defense coverage
-Traps in good places
-Staggered junctions
-Nailed all the basics


CONS:
-Second layer could be more compartmentilised


Improvements:
-Overall this is a good design.
-Use 2 walls to cut the funnel in half in the areas with 2 walls

• I guess there is no way to relocate the storage's in my design so I pretty much need a new base :P Ill check out the link you gave me. thanks
• It seems like this base is not that bad due the extensive funneling making barchs ineffective (from my experience) they need to go really try hard mode on me to get all my resources/3*
  
  • With this said isn't funneling the best option to avoid them to get into your core while running around the base taking splash damage? Like if I separate the outside layer at one point aren't the enemy troops either going to the next compartment or just straight to the core if there is not a free path for them?
  
  
• I read somewhere that I shouldn't focus on protecting my DE until TH8, is that wrong? :o so should I switch the castle by the DE?

Hey, it looks pretty good! I'll give you some Pros and Cons :)

Pros:
-Triangulated WTs
-Triangulated ADs
-Mortars pretty well placed, hard for TH8s to have 4
-Junctions staggered reasonably well

Cons:
-WTs dont cover all the storages
-Spring trap Placement isnt great, on the right giants wont set them off as they will target the AD/Mortar compartment after taking down the AT/Cannon. On the top and bottom a smart attacker will set off the spring traps with 1 giant.
-On the left giants will go AT/Cannon - Tesla - Core instead of going back out towards the other AT/Cannon

Needs a bit of work but overall a pretty good base :)

It is a war/trophy base I created myself, and sometimes I adapt it to a farming base.
What are the cons and pros?

First of all its unsymmetrical which cant be good at times, i advise you work on those junctions and focusing splash on storages, also try keep that CC and DE centered! try not to have slash exposed.

Ohh looks like a unique solid intimidate archetype design, youve got decent funnels but can easily be broken so try working on that, also work on those junctions man, stagger them boyz!!

Hey there fellas. I've had this farming base for quite sometime now. It has done extremely well, no one has 3 starred me yet; however, I've been farming in Gold 1 and I'm looking to move to at least Crystal 2. I'm curious if ya'll think this base will hold up at that level, and if so, what can I do to improve it. If not do you have any suggestions for a mid-TH9 farming base? Thanks a ton!

Thanks for feedback Shadow! Not sure what archetype design is lol.
But I could use further explanation when you aren't tired, especially about the junctions - I've tried to stagger them but must be missing something - you mean keep them a stronger two wall pieces apart instead of one, like that junction between the mortar and cannon on the right side?
Any funnel suggestions or bases with stronger funnels I should check out to see what you mean?

Also I would like some input on my war base if ya don't mind. Its been flawless against dragons, balloonion, barch, and only 1 star has been earned with a strong giwipe attack, and they didn't get the townhall. Here is the link to the thread:

I would change the position of the TH and CC and re-arrange the giant bomb location. Other than that very good.

So far, Only few skilled th9 are able to 100% my base both war & farming. Still there is always room for improvements. Any suggestion on both bases is welcomed. Farming base is an edited version of someone's base from forum while war base is self-designed.

If possible any suggestions for below bases will help me in my th9 journey.

In this base, Giant bombs are mortars & tesla are outside of walls near elixir storages in all four directions. Rest traps will be easily adjust inside the 1st layer from outside. CC is non lureable.

Would a solution be to put the giants bombs in the bottom of my core? Or should I put them on the entrance of the funnel after a spring trap?

1. Farming Base

well, its gr8! but center that CC, otherwise it looks like a solid farming base, nothing to say, LOL

War base!

try and make it more solid and less open, seems like ur going for the anti drag approach soo, i really dont know, but for me a solid war base is better, as it defends better against gowiXX

okay now your first th9 farm base:

Pro's:
Centered CC
Centered DE
Nice splash and point defense coverage
Spread storages

Con's:
Them T Junctions, but, what can yah do :p
exposed lix, not that i care though

i cant really say improve anything on that base, but i wouldnt use it
but for that 2nd th9 farming base fix some junctions and center that CC and thatd be gr8

now that war base is gr8, its the general, to me, use it!!, if it doesnt work out just try smth else

Pro's:
Centered DE
Centered Splash
good AD coverage
spread out storages and point defense

Cons:
Mortars not triangulated
CC not centered
Spawnholes on teslas(get ridd of them!)
Trap placement

you need to improve on funneling & trap placement, centering the CC and maybe spreading out the splash a bit more

-good air coverage
Nice side funnels
-Good spring trap placement


CONS:
-Bombs are wasted all round the mortar
-Teslas could be placed near core, they are a powerful weapon
-Stagger the single bad junction
-Get builder huts out if the core

IMPROVEMENTS:
-Move builder outs into the range if defenses
-Possibly move teslas in to that second layer and swap a storage out, as in war you don't lose any loot
-Spread the love around with the bombs

Seeking Air Mines not place correctly

-Stagger thise walls. Move them out so that wall breaker damage cannot break into more than 1 compartment at a time
-Seeking air mines should be placed next to air defenses
-Move traps into positions which will be triggered and move them into funnels


Overall I think this is a very strong base and with a changes could be even better

Thanks for the review. I was trying use the storages as a barrier to air d from drags. Getting stuck on storages really screw drags on occasion. I moved the huts in and swapped bottom storages with AT. Moved walls in closer to south mortar and squeezed in the teslas in second layer as suggested. Thanks again! going to be tested tonight. :)

Kind thanks for the review. I don't use GB for farming as they cost too much. And I put the SAM there for a giant healer combo. By he time healers enter Ad range the giants are still full hp and wreaking havoc. i'll see how i can improve it. THANks again.
