Leader changing.

When the leader leaves a clan without first passing it onto another person how is it decided who becomes the next leader? I did this to see what would happen and it looks like it just gave it to a random co ( one of 8 coleaders). He's not the oldest co leader, he's not the strongest, and he's not first alphabetically so why has the game chosen him to be leader. Is it just random?

I thought it gave it to the coleader with the most trophies?

It gives it to the coleader that has the highest amount of trophies.

If the clan leader leaves without promoting someone else to leader, the highest-ranked (by trophy count) co-leader will automatically become leader. If there are no co-leaders, the highest-ranked elder will take the position, and if there are no elders the highest-ranked normal member in the clan will automatically become leader. If the leader is the only one in the clan when he leaves, the clan will be dissolved.
