Im a mid TH8 in a clan who constantly participates in clan wars. All 3 of my air defenses are level 5. Would it be a good idea if I upgrade them to level 6? I figured once I reach TH9 loot would be very hard and there are far more important things to upgrade/build there. Also, I never get raided via air and my level 5 air defs can pretty much hold up against a mass drag army during CWs...
AD was one of my last upgrades at TH8. If your base survives air attacks then maybe you don't need them, but I would still upgrade them before you move on to TH9 imo.
yes!! max out your def before upgrading is a must!! once you got to a certain league..... you will be swarmed with baloonion and mass drags... so yeah.. it is worth it...
There's no TH8 base with 3x AD lvl 5 that can hold against mass drag lvl 3 with rage. Maybe if you got AT, WT and Teslas on max, but that happens seldom. So I'd recommend you to upgrade AD to lvl 6 if you're warring a lot.
EDIT: Can't hold against a skilled attacker.
Max your ad. It will help against drag/loon attacks and pesky giant/healer raids
That is false, my mid TH8 with three lvl 5 AD can hold mass lvl 3 dragon attacks to typically 1/2 stars in CW. The deciding factors are the base layout, attacker skill and the attacker hero levels. The only time I got 3 starred in CW was by a TH10 with Lvl 3 mass dragons and BK/AQ at 10+Quote:

High lvl AD's will allow you to point your xbows down when you are a TH9. You may not realize it yet, but this is really huge in terms of protecting resources from barchers and archer queens. Plus now that I have 4 lvl 7s, the replays are really fun to watch when I get the occasional mass dragon attack during wars :)
I viewed, as a TH8, any base with less than 2 level 6 + 1 level 5 AD as 100% 3 stars every time. The only exceptions were if I, as the attacker, incorrectly cut my dragon attack to rage them to the core.
Air Defenses are one of the best defenses in the game for Clan Wars at TH7 and TH8, as you will be facing predominantly mass dragon attacks. You will still probably get 3 starred by them (if the attacker is any good), but once you hit TH9 and get 4 level 6 Air Defenses, you will start to limit clans to 1 to 2 stars with a dragon attack. Once you get 4 level 7 Air Defenses (I'm not there yet), it not only essentially eliminates mass dragon as a viable attack against you, it also lets you point your xbows to the ground, which is really what xbows are meant for anyways. This helps hold off lower level GoWiX attacks as you get the rest of your defenses up to snuff.
Air Defenses are 100% worth it.
Look @ it this way: To keep it simple people have three options to attack you. Ground, Air and combo of both. If your ADs are leveled you eliminate the air attacks to an certain extent. You will be surprise how many people don't know how to attack once you take their air option from them!
I got baloolooloonianed pretty often in gold 1-2 as a th8. I'd upgrade them for sure, especially if you're active in clan wars.
I would say yes. The lvl 6 air defence really shreds up dragons. In war my base won 4/5 defences just against dragons. One guy finally managed to two star me but couldn't get the last AD. I'd definitely say it's worth it
YES! It will save you a ton of time at TH 9 and TH 10. Especially because people are using balloonian and lavooninan!
Th9 (rushed) With level 5 ad's no problems at all, until I go to C3... Depends what you want. If you're warring alot I would say upgrade them. If you're going to be staying in G3 through G1 it's not as urgent and IMO you won't need them . But definitely for warring and C3 and up...Quote:

Go to TH9. I love premature bases. You won't regret it if you leave a few other defenses undeveloped too.

Enjoy barching the rest of your life on CofC. As soon as you move up to crystal and need a legitimate army and spells to get DE quickly, you'll wish you could attack every 10 minutes. Try forty minutes for loonion or giants.Quote:
